Nepal Police thrash Chaudandigadhi

Departmental team Nepal Police Club (NPC) thrashed Chaudandigadhi Municipality 6-0 on Friday in the ongoing National Women's League 2077.

In the match played at the ANFA Complex, Satdobato Rekha Poudel and Srijana Khadka netted twice each while Amrita Jaisi and Nirmala B.K scored apiece.

Nepal international Rekha Poudel opened the firing for NPC in the 28th minute. Poudel also scored her second and team's fifth in the 89th minute.

Amrita Jaisi had earlier extended the lead in the 41st minute of the match while Nirmala B.K scored in the 45+2nd minute.  

The third goal for NPC came with Srijana Khadka in the 45th minute. Khadka had also found the back net in the 90+3rd minute as to result 6-0 victory over guests Chaudandigadhi Municipality.

NPC Coach Sanjeev Joshi thanked his team's effort and the coordination. " Winning a match is a always a good side. We have utilized all of our substitution with news players and they played very well," said Joshi.  

Likewise, Chaudandigadhi head coach Dipak Thapa remained positive despite the loss.

"My team lacks experience. We are glad that outsider teams like us are competing in the national league. My team is hopeful doing well in the next coming fixtures," Thapa said.

Footballers Mission Together mourns death of Lok Bahadur Shahi, I S Subba

Footballers Mission Together, established by former international footballers, on Wednesday held a special ceremony to mourn the death of former footballer and All Nepal Football Association General Secretary Lok Bahadur Shahi and former international I S Subba. 
ANFA President Karma Tsering Sherpa was also present in the ceremony along with other FMT officials. The program was held on the 11th day of Shahi's death. 
Shahi died at his ancestral home in Dailekh on January 10. Similarly, Subba passed away on August 17.

Biratnagar, Waling play out draw

The match between Biratnagar Metropolitan City and Waling Municipality ended on a 1-1 draw on Thursday. 
Samjhana Sharma opened the scoring for Waling in the second minute with a header goal through a corner kick by Hima Rawat. 
Biratnagar had to wait until the 68th minute to find a equalizer when their Indian player Asha Kumari's free kick was misjudged by Waling's goalkeeper Sabitri Kishan. Kishan scoffed Kumari's shot into the net. 
Chaudandigadhi Municipality will play against Nepal Police Club in the only match on Friday.

Bhandari scores hattrick as APF defeat Chandrapur

Armed Police Force (APF) displayed their title credentials as hattrick from Sabitra Bhandari sunk Chandrapur Municipality to a 6-0 defeat.

In the first match of the day played at ANFA Complex in Satdobato on Thursday, Bhandari opened the score in the 14th minute when she latched a right footed shot after a cross from Aanjali Yonjan from the left. Yonjan then scored herself in the 22nd minute when a corner kick was headed on her path by Saru Limbu.

Player of the Match Bhandari scored her second in the 62nd minute from Anita Basnet's pass. Two minutes later, Bhandari then turned provider feeding Basnet for the team's fourth. She completed her hattrick in the 72nd minute with a powerful right footed shot following a fine solo run.

The sixth was scored by Preeti Rai after Chandrapur goalkeeper Yunisha Rai failed to clear the ball allowing Rai to score.

APF coach Bhagwati Thapa said they were happy to start the league with a win and show they were the title contenders. "The first match is always important and our players played really well. We were slow to start but caught the rhythm in the second half," said Thapa.  

Forward Bhandari said she was happy to score and register a win against a quality team like Chandrapur. "It is good to be back playing a competitive match and even better that the quality of competition has improved," she said.

Chandrapur coach Noorraj Kafle said they were dealt a blow with an injury to their key defender Samikshya Ghimire in the start of the second half. "It resulted in a flurry of goals as we came under pressure following the injury. We also lacked fitness to play which should improve in coming matches," Kafle said.
