Sharmila Thapa and Rashmi Ghising both scored four each as Tribhuvan Army Football Club (TAFC) thrashed Chandrapur Municipality 10-0 in the National Women's League match on Friday.
Bimala Chaudhary and Sapana Lama scored the other two goals for the departmental side as they move to second with the win. They now have a two point lead over Nepal Police Club and Waling Municipality Syangja, who both are tied on five points.
Chaudhary opened the scoring in the third minute for TAFC. Thapa then scored two goals in the 15th and 35th minute before Lama made it 4-0 in the 44th. Thapa completed her hat-trick in the 51st minute. Ghising opened her account with the team's sixth in the 59th and added another in the 62nd.
After Sharmila scored her fourth, TAFC's eighth, in the 64th minute, Ghising found the net in the 67th and 84th minute to complete her hat-trick.
TAFC coach Raju Tamang said the big scoreline helped boost confidence among the strikers after earlier loss against APF. "We wanted three points and early goals helped in achieving that," said Tamang.
Chandrapur assistant coach Chitra Darlami Magar said injury to key players have hit them hard. "Our key players are injured. That has led to decline in our performance," said Magar.

Sabitra Bhandari scored a hat-trick as Nepal Armed Police Force Club (APF) defeated Nepal Police Club (NPC) 3-0 in the National Women's League match on Thursday.
The win means APF strengthened their lead in the top. They now have 12 points from four matches, building a seven points lead over second-placed NPC who have five.
In the match played at ANFA Complex in Satdobato, Bhandari scored in the 32nd, 56th and 84th minute to complete her hat-trick. NPC failed to mount a proper challenge against their departmental rivals as they were unable to create any scoring chances.
APF are yet to concede a goal in this tournament scoring a total of 17 goals without reply.
NPC's coach Sanjeev Joshi said injury to their defense cost them today's match. "Our key defender Puja Rana was injured in last match and that affected us in today's match"said Joshi.
APF's coach Bhagwoti Thapa dismissed title race was far from over. "Yes we defeated both of our departmental rivals but the title race is far from over. There are still a lot of matches to play for, said Thapa.

Waling Municipality's Cameroonian Metho Eludie Ruth scored six goals as they romped to a 10-0 thrashing of pointless Chaudandigadhi Municipality in the National Women's League on Thursday.
Player of the Match Ruth completed her hattrick inside 12 minutes in the first half and added three more in the second to complete the rout as Waling registered their first win in the tournament. Samjhana Sharma scored two and Manmaya Damai and another Cameroonian Touta Oranella Evanick Noelle scored a goal each for Waling.
Ruth scored the team's first in the seventh seventh and added two more in the ninth and 19th. Manmaya scored in the 33rd minute to take a 4-0 lead in the first half. Noelle scored in the 49th before Ruth added two more in 63rd and 71st minute. Sharma scored in the 80th minute and added another two minutes later to make it 9-0. Ruth added her sixth in the added minutes of second half.
Waling coach Dilip Thapa lauded the impact made by his foreign players in the league. "They have started to settle now. We wanted to score and we succeeded," said Dilip.
Ruth also said she was happy to contribute to the team by scoring goals. "I am happy especially for the points," she said.
It was another disappointing performance for Chaudandigadhi who have now scored just one goal and conceded 23 goals in three matches. Coach Dipak Thapa said they were not able to keep the ball possession and were heavily penalized. "Our defense and midfield was almost non-existent in today's match. We hope to improve in coming matches," said coach Dipak.
The big win takes Waling to third in the table above Tribhuvan Army Football Club who have a game in hand. Chaudandigadhi lie bottom of the table without a point.
