7-day refereeing course begins in Hetauda

A seven-day ANFA Refereeing Course has begun in Hetauda from Monday.

ANFA President Karma Tsering Sherpa inaugurated the programme by lighting an oil-fed lamp amid a special function today. Member Secretary of National Sports Council Bagmati Province Surya Lal Bhandari, and Bagmati Province Police Chief DIG Basanta Kumar Lama were the special guests during the programme.

A total of 35 participants from Bagmati Province are taking part in the course.

The course will be conducted by former FIFA Assitant Referee Gajendra Man Singh, former FIFA Referee Kalpana Sharma, former FIFA Referee Laba Khatri, former FIFA Assistant Referee Sailesh Joshi while the course will be coordinated by former FIFA Assistant Referee Rojen Shrestha.

The programme is being organized by Bagmati Province Sports Development Council with technical assistance by ANFA and coordination by Makwanpur District Football Association.

'A' Division Futsal League to be held in Pokhara

All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) is organizing 'A' Division Futsal League in Pokhara in May this year.

A total of 10 teams―two teams from Province 1 and Gandaki Province, one from Province 2, four from Bagmati Province and one team representing Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpashim provinces―will take part in the competition organized by the ANFA Futsal Committee.

The qualifying round for Province 1 will be held from March 14-18 (Chaitra 1-5) in Itahari while the qualifying for Province 2 will be held in Hetauda from March 21-25 (Chaitra 8-12). Similarly the qualifying for Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpaschim province will be held in Dang from April 1-5 (Chaitra 19-23).

Qualifying for four teams from Bagmati Province will be conducted in Kathmandu from April 7-12 (Chaitra 25-30). Gandaki province qualifying will be held in Pokhara from April 16-20 (Baisakh 3-7).

The final round comprising the qualified 10 teams will be held at multipurpose hall in Pokhara from May 8-29 (Baisakh 25 to Jestha 15).

'A', 'B' and 'C' Division clubs, clubs affiliated with District Football Associaitons, affiliated with National Sports Council

ANFA will provide Rs 100,000 to the 10 teams as preparation money and will also bear the accommodation and transportation costs.

The winner of the league will take a cash prize of Rs 1 million while the first runner up will receive Rs 500,000. Individual best players―Best Player, Best Goalkeeper, Best Defender, Best Coach and Emerging Player―will receive Rs 25,000 each.

Sabitra Bhandari hits four in APF's win over Biratnagar

Sabitra Bhandari put on another standout performance as Nepal APF Club send Biratnagar Metropolitan City packing with a thumping 7-0 victory in the ongoing National Women's League organized by the All Nepal Football Association at the ANFA Complex, Satdobato. 
Starting with the pacy frontlines, APF constantly had pressurized the opponent box from the very start of the match. 
Bhadari scored four goals alone while Anita K.C bagged a brace and Saru Limbu scored one goal in the win for APF. 
Anita KC opened APF's account in the 6th minute. KC also scored in the 80th minute. 
Sabitra Bhandari scored in the 25th, 42nd, 74th and 89th minute. She now has seven goals from two matches in the competition.
Saru Limbu netted in the 72nd minute.  
Commenting on the match APF Coach Janak Singh Tharu said, " We would have liked to score more goals in the second half but some of the best chances were squandered. Our tough fight will be against the departmental side and we look forward to it." 
Birtanagar Metropolitan Coach Paras Chaudhary said, " APF is a big team with star players. Our strategy was to defend against APF and concede less goals but did not go as planned. Our top fight comes with guests teams like us, for departmental teams we would like to give less goals."

TAFC run riot against Waling with 7-0 win

Tribhuvan Army Football Club's Bimala Chaudhary scored a hattrick as they defeated Waling Municipality Syangja 7-0 in the National Women's League Football match at ANFA Complex on Sunday. 
Bimala opened the scoring in the 15th minute before Dipa Rai added a double in the 28th. Sharmila Thapa made it 3-0 just before the break. 
TAFC continued their scoring spree in the second half with two more goals from Chaudhary in the 66th and 75th minute. Substitutes Hema Chaudhary and Bhujanga Rai scored a goal each in the 89th and 92nd minute to complete the rout. 
TAFC coach Raju Tamang said they had focused on scoring after a goalless draw in the opening day of the tournament. "It paid off as we scored early goals and added more in the second half," Tamang said. He added the team's next match against Armed Police Force is crucial in their chase for the title. 
Waling Municipality Coach Dilip Thapa said injury to their key foreign player and failing to strike a balance between those who were playing left them with the defeat. "Our African defender was injured and those who were playing could not coordinate well with the team. I hope we can improve in coming matches," said Thapa.
