The five-day FIFA MA Refereeing Course began today at the ANFA Complex and will run from November 20 to 24.
The course is being conducted by FIFA Referee Development Officer Mohamad Rodzali Bin Yacob and FIFA Technical Instructor Etsuko Fukano, with seven Nepali instructors assisting throughout the sessions.
The program was formally inaugurated by ANFA President Pankaj Bikram Nembang, with Vice President Deepak Khatiwada and General Secretary Kiran Rai also present at the opening ceremony.
The FIFA MA Refereeing Course is designed to enhance the standards of refereeing within FIFA’s Member Associations by strengthening both theoretical understanding and practical application of the Laws of the Game.
Over the five days, participants will engage in classroom sessions, video analysis, on-field practical drills and fitness assessments aimed at improving decision-making, positioning, match management, and overall refereeing quality.
The course also supports the development of local referee instructors, helping build long-term capacity and professionalism within the national refereeing structure.
A total of 26 participants, including six women referees, are taking part in the program.
