ANFA General Secretary Indraman Tuladhar bereaved

All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) General Secretary Indraman Tuladhar has been bereaved of his mother's death.

Tuladhar's mother Hira Shova Tuladhar, 85, passed away at her home at 12 Thursday morning. She was a patient of heart problems.

Hira Shova's final rites will be performed today at Teku Dobhan.

Biratnagar shock Police with 1-0 victory

Biratnagar Metropolitan City (BMC) pulled off a thrilling 1-0 victory against Nepal Police Club (NPC) in the National Women's League match on Wednesday.

Parbati Ghale scored in the ninth minute to shock the departmental team at ANFA Complex.

The victory propels Biratnagar to third on the table with 10 points taking them over NPC. NPC and Waling Municipality Syangja both have eight points each but NPC are above Waling due to better goal difference.

Biratnagar's coach Paras Chaudhary said they are happy to implement their strategy in the game. "My players did exceptionally well. We also implement our strategy well," said Chaudhary.

NPC coach Sanjeev Joshi said his players have not been able to play up to their level leaving them fourth on the table. "We also could not convert our chances. Our title ambitions have taken a great hit," said Joshi.

With the completion of first round of matches on Wednesday, the second round of matches will begin on February 6. Undefeated Nepal Armed Police Force Club (APF) lie on the top with six wins from as many matches.

Army score a dozen past Chaudandigadhi, narrow gap to APF

Tribhuvan Army Football Club scored 12 goals past Chaudandigadhi Municipality Udaypur in the National Women's League match on Wednesday.

Sharmila Thapa scored five, Sapana Lama scored twice and Hema Chaudhary, Anjali Waiba, Bimala Chaudhary, Bimala BK and Rashmi Ghising scored one each for the departmental side.

The win narrowed TAFC's gap to Nepal Armed Police Force Club (APF) to five points. Chaudandigadhi lie in the bottom still seeking for their first point of the tournament.

Foreigners ensure victory for Waling against Chandrapur

Metho Eludie Ruth hit a brace and Touta Ornella Evanick Noelle scored with a brilliant free-kick as Waling Municipality Syangja (WMS) defeated Chandrapur Municipality Rautahat (CMR) 3-0 in the National Women's League match on Tuesday. 

Noelle opened the scoring in the 37th minute through a free-kick before Ruth added second in the 45th minute. Ruth added another in the 53rd minute to claim three points for Syangja. 

Syangja move fourth in the table level on points with Nepal Police Club with eight points each but behind on goal difference. 

Chandrapur lie sixth with three points.
