Maharjan, Rana nominated Commercial and Marketing Committee members

Kishore Maharjan, the Executive Chairman at Star Hospital and Ayush JB Rana, Venue Manager and Operation Consultant at India on Track have been nominated as the members of All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) Commercial and Marketing Committee.

ANFA President Karma Tsering Sherpa handed them the nomination amid a special function at ANFA Complex on Sunday.

Army overcome Waling 2-0 to keep title hopes alive

Tribhuvan Army Football Club (TAFC) defeated Waling Municipality Syangja 2-0 and remain in pursuit of the National Women's League title on Tuesday.

Sharmila Thapa opened the scoring and Pushpa Gurung scored into her own goal in the first half to give TAFC the win at ANFA Complex in Satdobato.

Thapa scored in the first minute while Gurung deflected another just three minutes before half-time in her own net in TAFC's win.

TAFC coach Raju Tamang said he was happy to emerge as winners against a tough opponent as Waling. "The early goal helped our cause. Our defense was also good today stopping their strikers," said Tamang.

Waling coach Dilip Thapa said conceding early goal put them under pressure. "My players did well but the early goal put pressure on us. That goal changed the context of the game," said Thapa.

TAFC reduced the gap over table-toppers Nepal Armed Police Force Club (APF) to two points. Waling are third on the table with a point above Biratnagar Metropolitan City Morang and three points above Nepal Police Club.

APF hit 14 past Chaudandigadhi for seventh straight win

Nepal Armed Police Force Club (APF) hammered Chaudandigadhi Municipality Udaypur 14-0 to record their seventh straight win in the National Women's League match on Monday. 

Sabitra Bhandari scored eight, Anita KC and Anita Basnet hit a brace each and Anu Lama and Rabina Gole scored one each in the big win at ANFA Complex in Satdobato. 

The win extended APF's lead at the top over Tribhuvan Army Football Club (TAFC) to five points. Chaudandigadhi, who lost the first leg against APF 22-0, put on an improved performance in the return leg. They lie at the bottom of the table without a point.

Waling inflict second consecutive defeat to Nepal Police Club 

Metho Eludie Ruth scored in the 58th minute to give Waling Municipality Syangja (WMS) a 1-0 victory over Nepal Police Club (NPC) in the National Women's League on Sunday.

This was second consecutive defeat for NPC losing their earlier match to Biratnagar Metropolitan City by the same goal margin. 

Waling meanwhile climbed to third on the table with 11 points from seven matches.

NPC lie on fifth with eight points from seven matches.
