APF favorites for title after eighth straight win

Nepal Armed Police Force Club (APF) defeated Chandrapur Municipality Rautahat 8-0 to record eighth successive win in the ongoing National Women's League.

Sabitra Bhandari scored six and Anita Basnet scored twice as APF increased their lead at the top over Tribhuvan Army Football Club (TAFC) to five points.

Chandrapur were holed into their own half for most of the time and they failed to muster a single shot against the departmental giants. APF are the only team who are yet to concede a goal in the tournament.

APF coach Bhagwati Thapa said their play in the first half was not as expected but improved in the second half. "Our ball possession could not be as we expected in the first half. We improved in the second half," said Thapa.

Chandrapur coach Noorraj Kafle said they were relatively good in the first half. "Our first half was good. We slipped in the second half and goals flowed," said Kafle.

Chandrapur are sixth on the table with six points from eight games.
