Players, officials test negative for Covid-19

The polymerase chain reaction (PCR) results of all the 23 players and 12 officials travelling for Iraq friendly and second round matches of World Cup Qualifiers have returned negative.

Nasal and throat samples of players and officials were taken on Monday morning. All the swab samples tested negative for Covid-19.

The team will travel on a special Qatar Airlines flight at 10 pm Tuesday.

Nepal is scheduled to play a friendly against Iraq on May 29. Following the friendly the team will play second round of World Cup Qualifiers against Chinese Taipei on June 3, against Jordan on June 7 and against Australia on June 11 in Kuwait.

Final squad for World Cup Qualifiers and friendly against Iraq confirmed

The final list of players for the friendly match against Iraq and World Cup Qualifiers matches in Kuwait has been confirmed.

Head coach Abdullah Almuitari confirmed the team on Tuesday.

The coach has left out Bharat Khawas, Ranjit Dhimal, Amit Tamang, Sesehang Angdembe, Ravishankar Paswan, Nishan Khadka, Bibek Basnet, Nitin Thapa and Darshan Gurung from the preliminary squad.

All players join closed camp training for World Cup Qualifier and Iraq friendly

Players called up in the preliminary squad of the national team have joined the closed camp training.

The national team has already begun closed-camp training for the friendly match against Iraq and World Cup Qualifiers matches adopting all the health and safety measures.

Nepal will play a friendly match against Iraq in Basra on May 29. The friendly match against Iraq will be followed by second round of World Cup Qualifiers against Chinese Taipei on June 3, against Jordan on June 7 and against Australia on June 11 in Kuwait.

Nepal to play friendly against Iraq

Iraq will host a friendly football against Nepal at Basra International Stadium on May 29.

The friendly has been confirmed on Thursday.

Nepali national team has previously played three times against Iraq with Iraq emerging as victors in all three occasions. The latest of the match was in April, 2001 when Iraq defeated Nepal 4-2 in World Cup Qualifier.

The friendly match against Iraq will be followed by second round of World Cup Qualifiers against Chinese Taipei on June 3, against Jordan on June 7 and against Australia on June 11.

The three matches will be played in Kuwait.
