Second day of webinar on capacity building focuses on Local General Coordinator

The second day of the three-day webinar on Monday discussed on the roles and activities of Local General Coordinator (LGC).

After a welcome speech by All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) President Karma Tsering Sherpa and Deputy Director of AFC's Competitions and Football Events Division (CFED) Avazbek Berdikulov, Brian See from AFC's Competitions & Football Events Division and Pavel Luzanov, AFC Manager of Club Competition, briefed about the AFC competitions.

Alisher Nikimbaev, Technical Expert of Qatar Football Association, detailed about the roles and responsibilities of LGC. He also described all the pre-match day and match day operations of the LGC.

Brian See and Shahin Rahmani, AFC's Manager of Stadia Safety & Security, briefed about Laws of the Game, Regulations and Manual and Stadium Checklist and Safety respectively. The final sessions were hold by Lee Seunghun, AFC's Senior Media and Broadcast Operations Manager, explaining about media operations and Brian See answering questions from the participants.

Around 30 participants, including members from District Football Associations and knockout tournament organizers in the districts, attended the webinar.

The final day of the webinar on Tuesday will focus on Team Manager.

Three-day capacity building webinar kicks off

A three day webinar aimed at capacity building on football education has kicked off. The webinar is first of its kind held in the country's footballing history.

A Match Commissioner webinar was organized on the first day on Sunday. All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) President Karma Tsering Sherpa gave his welcome note on the webinar and thanked Asian Football Confederation (AFC) for accepting ANFA's proposal to host such a training program. He hoped such program would benefit all the participants and the Nepali football overall.

Also speaking on the opening session, Deputy Director of AFC's Competitions and Football Events Division (CFED) Avazbek Berdikulov said they would have loved to visit Nepal for a physical event but hoped the virtual one would also be as fruitful. He hoped the first day of the event would help increase the number of match commissioners from Nepal.

AFC Manager of Club Competition Pavel Luzanov and Brian See from AFC's Competitions & Football Events Division gave an introduction into the AFC Competitions in the event. Mohd Saifuddin Abu Bakar, FIFA and AFC Match Commissioner, gave an insight into the roles and responsibilities of match commissioner.

Following a brief lunch break, Mohd Saifuddin also briefed about Match Commissioner Activities during the session. Brian See then briefed on laws of the game, regulation and manual followed by Senior Media and Broadcast Operations Manager at Asian Football Confederation Lee Seunghun's explanation on media operation.

The final session saw Shahin Rahmani, Manager of Stadia Safety & Security at Asian Football Confederation, briefing about the stadium safety and security and Brian See answering questions from the participants. A question and answer session was also held after each briefing with the presenter responding to questions.

Around 30 participants were present in the first day of the webinar.

The second day of the webinar will be held on Local General Coordinator and the final day will be on Team Manager.

ANFA headquarters to be closed for three days

All Nepal Football Association headquarters in Satdobato will remain closed for three days starting from Thursday after one of the employee was confirmed with Covid-19.

The headquarters will be disinfected during the closure.

Staffs who came in contact with the infected person have been asked to stay in home quarantine for seven days.

Sports Ministry invites application for sports awards

Ministry of Youth and Sports on Sunday invited application for the annual sports awards and felicitation program.

The ministry has been awarding sportsperson, managers, coaches, umpires, sports association and sponsors for their special contribution towards sports.

A statement issued by the ministry stated the above-mentioned individuals and associations should submit their application within 21 days of the notice being published.
