Satdobato one win away from promotion; Madhyapur defeat Pulchok

Satdobato Youth Club (SYC) are one win away from being promoted to 'A' Division after registering a comfortable 4-1 victory against Around The Himalaya Bansbari Club (BC) in the Martyr's Memorial 'B' Division League on Friday.

SYC have 25 points from nine matches and have two matches to play. Second-placed Khumaltar Youth Club (KYC) also have two matches remaining with 22 points. Since SYC have better head-to-head result against KYC, they will be promoted if they win one of their remaining two matches.

Ashim Rai opened the scoring for SYC in the 11th minute. Their lead was doubled in the added minutes of first half when BC's Amrit Shrestha scored in his own post. Prabesh Basnet added a third in the 52nd and Dinesh Rai made it 4-0 10 minutes later.

Nishan Sunar scored one in the 77th minute but it was too little and too late to mount any challenge for BC.

SYC's coach Sanoj Shrestha admitted they were closer to promotion but should not be carried away as there were still two matches to play. "We scored early and put on the pressure against our opponent. It paid off and we were able to score more," said Shrestha.

BC's coach Yugal Kishor Rai said they were now out of promotion race and congratulated SYC for inching closer to promotion. "They are now one match closer. We made mistakes and they converted theirs. That let us down," said Rai.

BC have 18 points from nine matches in third position.

In the second match, Madhyapur Youth Association (MYA) defeated Pulchok Sports Club (PSC) with Dhiraj Shrestha scoring a brace for MYA. Shrestha scored in the 33rd and 67th minute while Yam Bahadur Shrestha scored into his own net.
