Shree Kumari secure first win; Boys Union see off Madhyapur

Shree Kumari Club registered their first win of the Martyr's Memorial B Division League 2081 with a narrow 1-0 victory over Bansbari Club.

Following a goalless first half, team captain Yaman Maharjan scored the decisive goal to seal all three points for Shree Kumari.

In the day’s second fixture, Boys Union Club claimed a comfortable 2-0 win over Madhyapur Youth Association. First-half goals from Binod Rai and Divyabikram Chaudhary ensured the victory. Rai opened the scoring in the 24th minute, while Chaudhary doubled the lead just before halftime in the 45th minute.

Chyasal, Shree Bhagawati share points in goalless draw

The first match of the fifth round of the Martyr's Memorial B Division League 2081 between Chyasal Youth Club and Shree Bhagawati Club ended in a goalless draw.

Both teams were unable to find the back of the net despite several opportunities, and the match concluded 0-0 after 90 minutes of play.

In tomorrow’s fixtures, Shree Kumari Club will face Bansbari Club in the opening match, followed by Madhyapur Youth Association taking on Boys Union Club in the second encounter.

ANFA to organize league-cum-knockout tournament in Baisakh

The All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) will organize a league-cum-knockout football tournament featuring A Division clubs, starting from Baisakh 20, 2082 (May 3, 2025). A detailed discussion regarding the AFC Club Competition 2025/26 season was held today at the ANFA Complex in Satdobato, with participation from ANFA officials and 14 A Division clubs.

ANFA General Secretary Kiran Rai proposed that the tournament will kick off on Baisakh 20, 2082, with the winner earning the opportunity to compete in the AFC Club Competition 2025/26 season. ANFA CEO Indraman Tuladhar provided further clarifications on various aspects of the competition.

The clubs in attendance expressed strong support for the proposal, and all members reached a consensus on completing team registration by Baisakh 10 and player registration by Baisakh 15.

Both sides agreed to meet again in the coming days to resolve other matters related to the competition.

U-19 national squad trimmed to 33 players

The preliminary squad of the national U-19 football team has been trimmed to 33 players.

Head coach Urjan Shrestha made the latest cut on Monday, narrowing down the team from the initial pool of 58 players. The squad was previously reduced to 42 for the closed camp before reaching the current count.

The team is preparing for the upcoming SAFF U-19 Men’s Championship, scheduled to take place in India from May 9 to 18, 2025.
