The Rising Club Dharan, Machhindra Sky Goals register wins

The Rising Club Dharan made it two wins from two matches after defeating winless Prabhatpheri Youth Club 11-6 in the 'A' Division National Futsal League on Monday.

In the second match of the day, Machhindra Sky Goals cruised past Jharna Sports Club with an 8-0 win.

Rewosh Maskey and Man-of-the-Match Biku Tamang both scored hat-tricks in Dharan's win. Milan Rai scored twice and Milan Limbu, Dorje Tamang and Sudip Gurung also scored one each for the side.

Dhiraj Shrestha scored two goals and Dhiraj Joshi, Raj Poudel, Sijan Gurung and Srijesh Puri also got into the score-sheet for Prabhatpheri.

In the second match, braces from Nirmal Gurung Prakash Mahatara and goals from Anil Khadka, Aashish Sunam, Sanjog Chamling and Roshan Adhikari helped Sky Goals to the comfortable win.

Sports Castle will play against Sankhamul Futsal in the first match on Tuesday followed by Lumbini Futsal vs Sabin Memorial. The third and final match of the day will be played between Futsal 5 Dharan and Dhuku Futsal Hub.

Futsal 5, Sankhamul play out fiery draw, Lumbini, Dhuku win

Lumbini Futsal and Dhuku Futsal Hub registered wins in their games while Futsal 5 Dharan and Sankhamul Futsal played out a draw in the second day of the 'A' Division National Futsal League on Sunday.

Lumbini Futsal defeated Jharna Sports 6-2 in the first match of the day. Rupen Baraili scored twice while Anjan Thapa, Geli Sherpa, Raefi Maharjan and Rozal Dahal also got into the score-sheet for the team in the comfortable win.

Jharna Sports were mostly outperformed by their opposition with Amit Gurung and Mohan Bahadur Thapa Magar finding the net for them.

In the second match, Futsal 5 Dharan and Sankhamul Futsal played a feisty 3-3 draw.

Susaan Shrestha, Krijal Khadka and Laxman Thapa Magar scored one each for Sankhamul while Prabesh Joshi, Bijay Shrestha and Saroj Tamang found the net for Futsal 5 Dharan.

In the final match of the day, Dhuku Futsal Hub edged out Sabin Memorial with the 8-6 scoreline. Sabin Memorial, buoyed by a noisy home crowd, took the lead through Sunil BK in the eight minute but Dhuku bounced back scoring in regular intervals for the win. Abhinash Tamang scored twice, Manish Chhetri also found the net two times and Saroj Gurung and Sunil BK had one each to their names.

Urken Sherpa and Abhay Rana scored twice for Dhuku. Bikran Narsingh Rana also scored twice through 10 meter penalties. Amit Lama and Pemba Nurbu Lama scored the other two goals for Dhuku.

Prabhatpheri Youth Club will play against The Rising Club Dharan in the first match on Monday while Machhindra Sky Goals Kathmandu will take on Jharna Sports Club in the second match.

Skipper Chemjong awarded with Prabal Jana Sewa Shree, Chaudhary receives Sukriti Padak

National team skipper Kiran Chemjong has been awarded with Prabal Jana Sewa Shree on the occasion of Constitution Day on Sunday. Women's team forward Bimala Chaudhary has also been awarded with Sukriti Padak.

Prabal Jana Sewa Shree is one of the highest civilian awards of Nepal. It is awarded to personalities from different walks of life in recognition of their contributions to the country. Sukriti Padak is conferred to those who contribute to the pride and prestige of the country.

The number one shot stopper is currently in closed camp training with the national team in Qatar. With 74 matches under his belt, he is also the most-capped footballer. His recent appearance was against India at the Dasharath Stadium.

Chaudhary is also with the national team taking part in the AFC Women's Asian Cup Qualifiers in Uzbekistan. She scored Nepal's first goal against Philippines on Saturday but two late goals helped Philippines snatch the victory from Nepal.

Philippines down Nepal with last gasp goals

Nepal lost 2-1 to Philippines in the AFC Women's Asian Cup Qualifiers after conceding two late goals at the Jar Stadium in Tashkent. 

Bimala Chaudhary had given the lead to Nepal in the 10th minute but Tahnai Annis and Camille Wilson struck in the space of two minutes to snatch the victory from Nepal. 

Chaudhary headed in the goal from Sabita Rana's cross to give the lead for Nepal. She, however, had to come off injured in the 39th and was replaced by Anita Basnet. 

Annis levelled in the 90th minute and Philippines ensured all three points in the 92nd minute through Wilson. 

Nepal's coach Gary Phillips said he was saddened by the loss but praised the team for good performance. Phillips said the team played well for the 85th minute but the last five minutes let them down.

Nepal will play their other match against Hong Kong on September 21.
