ANFA Annual Award Ceremony; recognizes outstanding achievements

The All Nepal Football Association celebrated ANFA Day on Sunday. The award ceremony was held in Kathmandu, and saw the presence of sports celebrities. Apart, from acknowledging the best of football in the year 2075, it was an evening of love and laughter as well.

The football personalities, District Football Association and club were rightly felicitated at the ANFA Day Awarding Ceremony.

Speeches by the ANFA President Karma Tsering Sherpa, Guest of Honor and Chief Guest as well as performances by the celebrities from the Nepali film industries added extra touch of grandeur to the event.

Nepal to play Chinese Taipei in an international friendly

Nepal National men's football team will play Chinese Taipei in an international friendly in Kaohsuiung on June 6, 2019. 

The match will allow Nepal practice for this year's FIFA World Cup 2022 Qualifiers. 

Nepal national team head coach Johan Kalin will soon start the training for national team.

"Good for us to get a game against a higher ranked team. We will work hard until the game to be as prepared as possible." said Kalin.

Final Selection for ANFA U13 & U16 Academy Team

April 25, 2019 - Final selection of players for the U-13 and U-16 team for the ANFA Academy has begun today at the ANFA Complex, Satdobato.

The final selection came from the selected players from nationwide trails. The selected 25 players in each age category will induct players into the ANFA Academies in Butwal and Dharan and ANFA will take care of the football training, studies and other facilities.

The selected U-16 players will be also representing Nepal in the AFC U-16 Qualifiers in August. 

“The initiative gives the young players an opportunity to gain ideal ambience to develop their potential to the fullest. "

The step is to build upon the foundations for the future national team. The academies will be looking to challenge the players to take them to next level both individually and as a team,” ANFA President Karma Tsering said ANFA Media.

Nepal U-19 to compete against teams of China

Nepal U-19 Women’s Football team will compete in friendlies against the teams of China ahead of the AFC U-19 Women’s Championship 2019 Qualifiers Round 2.

Nepal have been drawn in Group ‘A’ with hosts Myanmar, Australia and Uzbekistan, which starts from April 26. Nepal will play against Australia on April 26 and go up against Uzbekistan on April 28 and against Myanmar on April 30.

Nepal will play two friendly against the age-group teams of Chendu State. The dates of the friendly match will be decided in coming days.

The match ahead of the qualifiers in Myanmar will serve as an ideal build-up for the team. 

Nepal U-19 head coach Hari Om Shrestha believes that China tour will be a productive outing for the team.

Shrestha says that the preparation have been going good and the friendlies with the teams of Chendu will be productive.

“We have had good preparation and I believe we are going to do our best in the qualifiers. The team has improved since we played SAFF U-19 Championship in Bhutan last year,” said Shrestha.
