Bista misses penalty as Nepal draws with Myanmar

Anajan Bista's 63rd minute penalty miss proved costly as Nepal played out a goalless draw against higher-ranked Myanmar in the first friendly on September 8 in Yangon.

Nepal were awarded the penalty when Myanmar's Hein Phyo Win handled Bista's header in the box. Bista stepped to take the penalty but was saved by the legs of Kyaw Zin Phyo.

Gillespye Jung Karki and Hisub Thapaliya made their debut in national colours. Karki started the game while Thapaliya was brought into the field in the 83rd minute.

 Both the sides missed chances in an all-equal match at Thuwunna Stadium in Yangon. The two sides will meet again on September 11 at the same stadium.

U-19 squad for SAFF U-19 Championship down to 25

The national men's U-19 squad has been trimmed to 25.

Head coach Sunil Shrestha reduced his squad to 25 on Tuesday.

The team will take part in the SAFF U-19 Championship to be held in Kathmandu from September 21-30.

ANFA Extraordinary Congress postponed over lack of quorum

The Extraordinary Congress called by ANFA via virtual medium on Sunday has been postponed to Monday after lack of required quorum needed for the Congress.

The meeting was called at 12:30 pm on Sunday but ANFA President Pankaj Bikram Nembang announced the meeting will be held again on Monday via virtual medium over lack of required quorum.

Earlier, an emergency meeting of ANFA executive committee was held at ANFA Complex in Satdobato.

The meeting decided to provide Rs 500,000 to U-15 national women's team player Yasodha Bohora who suffered from spinal injury. FIFA Assistant Referee who passed away while training has also been provided with Rs 300,000.

Nepal crash out of SAFF U-16 Championship after India loss

Nepal crashed out of the SAFF U-16 Championship after another 1-0 loss to India on Wednesday.

In a must-win match for Nepal, India scored through Mohammad Arbash in the 33rd minute of the game. Nepal had created few chances towards the end of the match but could not convert any.

Nepal finished the tournament winless and will now return home on Thrusday morning.
