Final U-20 squad for AFC U-20 Asian Cup Qualifiers announced

The final squad for the AFC U-20 Asian Cup Qualifiers has been announced.

Head coach Urjan Shrestha announced his squad on Monday.

The team will take part in the competition in Chinese Taipei from September 21-29, 2024.

Nepal have been drawn alongside Uzbekistan, Bahrain, Chinese Taipei and Cambodia in Group B of the competition.

Nepal will play its first match against Cambodia on September 21 followed by against host Chinese Taipei on September 23. Nepal's third match will be against Uzbekistan on September 25 before taking on Bahrain in their final group game.

Koshi secures second consecutive win; Waling dominates Karnali

Koshi Province came from behind to secure a 2-1 victory over Bagmati Youth Club in the second round of the ANFA Women's League 2081 on Thursday.

Bagmati took the lead with a goal from Bishnu Maya Bal in the 26th minute. However, Koshi equalized just three minutes later through Samikshya Magar. The match took a decisive turn when Divya Yasmali Magar of Bagmati scored an own goal, handing Koshi their second consecutive victory.

In the day’s second match, Waling Municipality's foreign recruit Jackline Nassali stole the show with a hat-trick, leading her team to a 4-0 triumph over Karnali.

Nassali scored the opener in the 10th minute and doubled the lead in the 41st minute. She completed her hat-trick with a goal in the 73rd minute.

Sukriya Miya added a fourth goal just before the final whistle. This victory marked Waling’s first win of the tournament and left Karnali with two losses from as many matches.

Army thump Sankata to wrap up first round

The first round of the ANFA Women's League 2081 concluded on Wednesday with Tribhuvan Army Football Club delivering a commanding 4-0 victory over Sankata Club.

In the sole match of the day at the ANFA Complex, Army took the lead with a goal from Sabitri Devi Magar in the 19th minute. Bimala Chaudhary extended the advantage to 2-0 with a direct corner kick in the 62nd minute.

An unfortunate own goal by Anusha Thebe in the 71st minute made it 3-0 for Army, and Anita Lamjel added the final touch with a goal six minutes later.

The second round of matches will commence on Thursday.

Chandrapur and Karnali draw; APF and Police share spoils

The ANFA Women's League 2081 saw two matches end in draws on Tuesday.

In the first match, Chandrapur Municipality and Karnali Province battled to a 1-1 stalemate. Sunkala Rai gave Karnali the lead in the 7th minute, but Rajani Thokar equalized for Chandrapur in added time at the end of the first half.

The second match, a departmental derby between APF Football Club and Nepal Police Club, was delayed by 15 minutes due to heavy rainfall that waterlogged the artificial pitch at the ANFA Complex.

Once the rain subsided, the game resumed, but neither team could find the back of the net. Defending champions APF dominated possession throughout the match, but Nepal Police's resolute defense kept them from scoring.
