Jawalakhel Youth Club (JYC) shared top spot at the table with Church Boys United after a 2-1 victory over New Road Team (NRT) in the Martyr's Memorial A Division League 2023.
Goals late in the game helped JYC to the victory at ANFA Complex in Satdobato. Simanta Thapa scored the team's first in the 68th before Fode Fofana doubled the advantage in the 77th. Sanjeeb Bista pulled one back for NRT but the team could not find the equalizer.
In the other match at Chyasal Stadium, Tribhuvan Army Football condemned defending champions Machhindra Football Club to a 2-0 defeat.
After a goalless first half where Army wasted opportunities with Dinesh Henjan's shot parred away by MFC's Bishal Shrestha and Sushant Chaudhary hitting the bar, Army lead through Dipak Gurung's header in the 48th minute.
Army doubled the advantage after a penalty was awarded with Gurung brought down in the box by Tshring Gurung in the 58th minute. Nawayug Shrestha stepped up and scored the resulting penalty.
FC Khumaltar will play against Three Star Club in the first match at ANFA Complex at 2:30 pm on Friday. Promoted Church Boys United will face Himalayan Sherpa Club in the second match at 5:30 pm at Dasharath Stadium.

Himalayan Sherpa Club edged Nepal Police Club 1-0 for their first win of the Martyr's Memorial A Division League 2023.
In other matches, Satdobato defeated APF Football Club and Manang Marsyangdi Club won against Sankata Club with the similar scored.
In the match played at Dasharath Stadium, Amrit Shrestha scored in the added minutes of the game to claim a last minute victory for Himalayan Sherpa and condemned Nepal Police Club to second successive defeat in the league.
Satdobato also claimed a 1-0 victory over APF Football Club with William Opoku Asiedu scoring the only goal in the 55th minute. Asiedu hammered his shot from the half-line after seeing APF's custodian Yuya Kuriyama coming way ahead of his line. Kuriyama desperately ran back but could not stop the ball from going into his net.
Manang Marsyangdi Club claimed their first victory with a goal from their foreign recruit Sayidjamol Davlatjonov. Davlatjonov scored in the 54th minute for a young Manang Marsyangdi side for their first victory of the league.
Two matches will be played in the league on Friday with Jawalakhel Youth Club facing New Road Team at ANFA Complex and Tribhuvan Army Football Club playing against Machhindra Football Club at Chyasal Stadium. Both the matches will start at 2:30 pm.

All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) marked International Women's Day with AFC Women's Football Dahy programme at ANFA Complex in Satdobato on Wednesday.
The programme was chaired by ANFA President Pankaj Bikram Nembang and coordinated by Women's committee Coordinator Sarila Shrestha Maleku.
Chief guest and member of House of Representatives and former State Minister for Health Dr Toshima Karki cut the cake to begin the celebrations. ANFA President Nembang handed over a token of love to chief guest Karki.
Giving a welcome speech, ANFA President Nembang said the upcoming Women's Olympic Football Asian Qualifiers matches in April was part of ANFA's long term plan to prioritize women's football in the country. Member of House of Representatives Dr Karki wished the team well in the upcoming tournament.
A cultural dance was also performed during the celebrations. Member of the national football team and U-17 national women's team played a friendly match on the occasions.

Church Boys United defeated FC Khumaltar 3-1 in the Martyr's Memorial A Division League 2023 on Tuesday.
In the other match of the day, Three Star Club share points Friends Club in a tense match at Chyasal Stadium.
In the match played at ANFA Complex in Satdobato, forward Ashish Chapagain scored a brace in Church Boys win. He scored his first dinking the ball over Khumaltar's goalkeeper Dev Limbu after Padam Bhattarai's poor head back to his goalkeeper was met by Chapagain first.
Eris Bista doubled Church Boys lead after a defensive error by Khumaltar in the 18th. Messouke Oloumou hammered a powerful shot to pull one back for Khumaltar in the 40th before Chapagain scored his second in the 71st to complete the win.
In the match at Chyasal Stadium, Friends Club and Three Star Club shared points after a 3-3 draw. Martins Kayode Ajayi gave Three Star the lead in just the second minute before Kushal Phuyal levelled for Friends in the 15th. Three Star retook the lead in the 24th minute through Yogesh Gurung before Friends Club levelled again in the 43rd minute through Akhrorbek Uktamov.
Pradip Lamsal thought he had won the game in the 87th minute but an own goal from Anil Maharjan saw Friends level the game for the third time and share the points.
The game became tense in the 89th minute when Friends official Sajan Kumar Shrestha was shown a red card for foul-mouthing the match officials.
Nepal Police Club will play against Himalayan Sherpa Club in the first match at Chyasal Stadium at 2:30 pm. APF Club will take on Satdobato Youth Club at the same time in Dasharath Stadium while the third match of the day will be played between Manang Marsyangdi Club and Sankata Club at Dasharath Stadium at 5:30 pm.
