Satdobato maintain perfect start with last gasp winner, Police suffer third defeat

Satdobato Youth Club defeated Friends Club 1-0 to maintain their perfect start in the Martyr's Memorial A Division League 2023 on Saturday.

Dipak Raj Singh Thakuri scored in the third minute of added time to secure the last-gasp winner for Satdobato in the final game of the day at Dasharath Stadium. Satdobato are behind leaders Church Boys United only due to goal difference on the table.

In the other matche, Sankata Club defeated Nepal Police Club 3-0 to secure their first win of the league while condemning Nepal Police to their third straight defeat of the league.

Ganesh Hamal scored Sankata's first in the 12 minute at Chyasal Stadium. Sankata had to wait until the 80th minute when Roshan Pahari doubled their advantage before Suraj Jeu Thakuri sealed the win six minutes later.

Jawalakhel Youth Club dropped points for the first time as they played out a goalless draw against APF Football Club at Dasharath Stadium.

After a goalless first half, APF were reduced to 10 men in the 70th minute when Adama Doumbia was shown a red card and given marching orders by referee Prajwal Chhetri. Chhetri had initially shown Doumbia a yellow card but after Doumbia confronted the referee over the card, Chhetri produced the red card. It was the first red card of the ongoing league.

Jawalakhel, however, could not take advantage of the numerical advantage and had to settle for a point.

Winless defending champions Machhindra Football Club will look to earn first points against Manang Marsyangdi Club at ANFA Complex while NRT will play against Tribhuvan Army Football Club at Chyasal Stadium. Both the matches will kick-off at 2:30 pm.

Three Star secure first win, Church Boys edge Himalayan Sherpa

Three Star Club defeated FC Khumaltar 2-0 to secure their first win of the Martyr's Memorial A Division League 2023 on Friday.

Martins Kayode Ajayi scored both the goals for Three Star in the win at ANFA Complex in Satdobato.

After a goalless first half, Ajayi gave Three Star the lead in the 54th minute. His second goal was a long range effort that sailed over FC Khumaltar goalie Rajkumar Limbu and went into the net in the 83rd.

In the second match of the day at Dasharath Stadium, Church Boys United edged Himalayan Sherpa Club 1-0 with Ashish Chaudhary scoring the only goal in the 21st minute.

It was Church Boys third win in as many matches and are at the top of the table of the league.

Nepal Police Club will play against Sankata Club in the first match to be played at Chyasal Stadium at 2:30 pm. At the same time, Nepal APF Club will play against Jawalakhel Youth Club at Dasharath Stadium while the third match will be played between Friends Club and Satdobato Youth Club at Dasharath Stadium at 5:30 pm.

Shahi scores four as Nepal rout Palestine

Dipa Shahi scored four goals in Nepal's 6-0 rout of Palestine in the AFC U-20 Asian Cup 2024 Qualifiers on Wednesday.

Shahi scored the opening in the 21st minute through a penalty before Garima Rai doubled the lead in the 30th minute. After a 2-0 first half, Nepal scored four in the second the first of which was scored by Shahi in the 68th minute.

Shahi completed her hat-trick in the 75th minute before Garima added her second and team's fifth in the 81st. Shahi scored again, her fourth, in the 85th minute to complete the rout.

Nepal will play their second match against Northern Mariana Island on Sunday (March 12).

ANFA Community Coaching Course Begins in Kathmandu.

Kathmandu District Football Association (KDFA) and All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) have organized a four-day ANFA community coaching course from 10th-13th March 2023. The course is aimed at developing talented coaches and is being conducted by Sanjeet Singh, with Chet Narayan Shrestha as the assistant instructor, both from ANFA.

30 participants are participating from across the Bagmati province and was inaugurated by Vice President (KDFA) Akash Gurung, along with former national player Hari Khadka and other members of the Kathmandu district football association at Sano Gaucharan Ground in Ganeshwor.
