Preparations for Prime Minister Three Nations Cup in full swing

The preparations for the Prime Minister Three Nations Cup to be held from March 22-31 at Dasharath Stadium have begun. Nepal will play against Bhutan and Laos in single round robin format with the top two teams advancing into the finals.

All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) organized a press meet at Dasharath Stadium regarding the preparations for the league.

The tickets for the tournament have been fixed at Rs 500 for normal parapet and Rs 1000 for VIP parapet. ANFA has also invited tenders for the marketing, broadcasting and digital rights of the tournament.

Nepal will play the opening match against Laos on March 22. Laos will play against Bhutan on March 25 before Nepal vs Bhutan match on March 28. All the group stage matches will begin at 6 pm.

The final will be played on March 31 at 5:30 pm. All the matches will be played in the March FIFA Window.

Khumaltar, Three Star secure wins to jump up the table

FC Khumaltar defeated Himalayan Sherpa Club 2-1 and Three Star Club secured a later 1-0 victory over Royal Blue Satdobato Youth Club in the Martyr's Memorial A Division League 2023 on Monday.

In the afternoon match played at Chyasal Stadium, Manish Thapa and Stephane Binong scored for Khumaltar. Thapa scored in the 22nd minute before Binong doubled the advantage in the 65th.

Biswash Shrestha pulled one back for Himalayan Sherpa in the 80th minute.

In the evening match at Dasharath Stadium, Three Star scored through Aditya Shakya in the 89th minute to secure their second consecutive victory of the league. Three Star moved to fourth in the table after the win.

Khumaltar are a place below Three Star at fifth.

Sankata Club will play Church Boys United at ANFA Complex at 2:30. Jawalakhel Youth Club take on Friends Club at the same time at Dasharath Stadium while defending champions Machhindra Football Club will face pointless Nepal Police Club in the third match at 5:30 pm.

Nepal thrash Northern Mariana Island, qualify for second round

Nepal defeated Northern Mariana Island 6-0 to qualify for the second round of AFC U-20 Women's Asian Cup Qualifiers on Sunday.

Dipa Shahi and Sarah Bajracharya scored two each and Saraswati Hamal and Jenifer Rana scored the other two in Nepal's win.

Nepal had defeated Palestine in their first match by the same scoreline.

Shahi, who had scored four against Palestine, opened the scoring in the fourth minute. Two minutes later Bajracharya doubled the lead and Shahi added team's third in the 19th.

Nepal found the net again through Saraswati Hamal in the 30th minute. Bajracharya scored her second in the 45th minute to give Nepal a comfortable 5-0 cushion at the completion of first half.

Jenifer Rana added a sixth in the added minutes to complete the rout.

Army fightback for NRT draw; Manang, Machhindra ends goalless

Tribhuvan Army Football Club played out a thrilling 3-3 draw against New Road Team in the Martyr's Memorial A Division League 2023 on Sunday. The other match between Manang Marsyangdi Club and Machhindra Football Club ended goalless.

In the match played at Chyasal Stadium, Army took the lead through Nawayug Shrestha in the 15th minute before NRT scored three within 10 minutes to race to a 3-1 lead. Lalnunzama scored twice with Jean Anicet Mboumi scoring in between for NRT.

Lalnunzama scored his first in the 52nd and Mboumi gave NRT the lead in the 57th minute. Lalnunzama scored again five minutes later to make it 3-1. Army then scored their second through Sudil Rai in the 68th minute before Dinesh Henjan levelled through a free-kick four minutes from time.

It was Army's second draw in three league matches. Their only victory was against Machhindra Football Club which played out a goalless draw against Manang Marsyangdi Club at ANFA Complex in Satdobato.
