AFC B Diploma Goalkeeping Coaching Course (2nd Module) kicks off

The AFC B Diploma Goalkeeping Coaching Course (2nd Module) began on Saturday at the ANFA Complex, with 11 goalkeeping coaches from across the country participating in this advanced-level training program. The course aims to elevate the standards of goalkeeping coaching and contribute to the development of Nepalese football.

The event was inaugurated by ANFA General Secretary Kiran Rai, who highlighted the importance of specialized training programs for football coaches.

The AFC B Diploma Goalkeeping Coaching Course provides an in-depth focus on advanced goalkeeping techniques, tactical awareness, player development, and psychological aspects of coaching. Participants will engage in both theoretical sessions and practical training, ensuring they acquire the skills necessary to coach at higher levels, including professional clubs and national teams.

Led by AFC Instructor Gumpe Rime, the course includes real-time analysis and modern approaches to goalkeeping, preparing participants to handle the dynamic demands of today’s game.

Nepal U-16 Women's team falls to Bhutan in friendly match

Nepal's U-16 women's football team suffered a heavy defeat against Bhutan in a friendly match held at the Dasharath Stadium on Friday. Bhutan showcased a dominant performance, clinching a 5-1 victory over the home side in the first match of the International Youth Friendly matches.

The match was inaugurated by National Sports Council Member Secretary Tanka Lal Ghising, who handed over the match balls to the officials in a brief opening ceremony.

Bhutan's Kuenden Sonam Tshogyal opened the scoring in the 25th minute, followed by two quick goals from Tshering Lhamo in the 36th and 40th minutes. Kuenden Sonam Tshogyal added another goal to her tally in the 66th minute, and Ugyen Tshomo sealed the win with a penalty in the 84th minute. Nepal's lone goal came in the 86th minute, courtesy of Sabina Tamang.

Nepal will now play the second match of the tournament against the same side on Sunday. Nepal's U-19 women’s team is set to face Bhutan’s U-19 women’s team on December 22 at the same venue.

ANFA kicks off Referee Refresher and Promotion Course for Category 3 0fficials

The All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) has organized the Referee Refresher and Promotion Course for Category 3 referees, aimed at enhancing their knowledge, skills, and officiating abilities.

This three-day program focuses on updating referees with the latest amendments to the Laws of the Game (LOTG) as set by FIFA, improving their decision-making and match control, and refining their positioning skills during matches.

Additionally, the course includes rigorous fitness tests to ensure referees meet the required physical standards.

The opening ceremony of Course was addressed by ANFA General Secretary Kiran Rai.

In his speech, he emphasized the importance of continuous learning and development for referees to maintain the integrity and quality of football matches. He also encouraged participants to take full advantage of the course to enhance their knowledge, improve their fitness, and work toward advancing to higher levels of officiating

3-day Refresher Course for Category 2 Referees kicks off at ANFA Complex

A three-day refresher course for Category 2 referees began from Sunday at the ANFA Complex in Satdobato. Organized by the All Nepal Football Association (ANFA), the course aims to enhance the skills and knowledge of referees while updating them on the latest rules and practices in football officiating.

The program was inaugurated by ANFA General Secretary Kiran Rai, who emphasized the critical role referees play in maintaining the integrity and fairness of the game. "This course is a valuable opportunity for our referees to refine their decision-making skills, understand new regulations, and uphold the high standards of professionalism expected in modern football," Rai said during the opening ceremony.

The course features a mix of theoretical sessions reviewing the Laws of the Game, practical drills to enhance positioning and fitness, and scenario analysis for improving judgment under pressure. Conducted by experienced instructors, including senior referees and ANFA officials, the program is designed to equip referees with the tools needed to officiate matches effectively and confidently.
