APF defeat Army to conclude Super Five round

APF Football Club edged past Tribhuvan Army Football Club with a 2-1 victory in the ANFA Women’s League, wrapping up the Super Five round on Wednesday.

Rashmi Kumari Ghising opened the scoring for APF in the 23rd minute, followed by Anita Basnet’s strike in the 38th minute, giving APF a commanding 2-0 lead. Tribhuvan Army fought back with a late goal from Amisha Karki, but it wasn’t enough to overcome their departmental rivals in what was their third league clash.

The two teams are set to face off again in Qualifier 1, with the winner earning a direct spot in the finals. The losing side will get another chance at a final berth by taking on the winner of the Eliminator match between Nepal Police Club and Bagmati Youth Club.

Waling defeat Bagmati to sign off in style

Sushma Tamang scored a hat-trick as Waling Municipality concluded their ANFA Women's League campaign with a 3-1 victory over Bagmati Youth Club.

Waling, already out of contention for the Eliminator and Qualifiers run, signed off in style at ANFA Complex in Satdobato.

Sahara Limbu had put Bagmati ahead two minutes before the half time before Tamang levelled the score in the 56th minute. She put the team ahead in the 69th minute before completing her hat-trick in the 85th minute.

The victory was also Waling's first in the Super Five round of the competition. Bagmati will now face Nepal Police Club in the Eliminator match on Friday.

APF clinch 2-0 victory against Nepal Police

APF Football Club secured a 2-0 win over Nepal Police Club in the ANFA Women’s League on Monday.

Rashmi Kumari Ghising opened the scoring for APF in the 17th minute, giving them an early lead. The match remained competitive in the first half, but Nepal Police struggled to find an equalizer.

In the second half, APF doubled their advantage with Anita KC’s brilliant finish in the 64th minute, shortly after she was substituted in for Man Maya Damai in the 60th minute.

Nepal Police introduction of substitutions, including Amrita Jaishi and Nirmala Upadhyaya, couldn’t overcome APF’s strong defensive setup.

Army hit Waling for six

Tribhuvan Army Football Club defeated Waling Municipality 6-1 in the ANFA Women’s League 2024 on Sunday. Army's victory was led by Chandra Bhandari who scored five for the departmental side.

The game started with an early goal by Bhandari in the 15th minute, setting the tone for Army. Waling Municipality responded through Mina Deuba in the 18th minute to level the score. However, Bhandari struck again in the 24th minute, ensuring Tribhuvan Army ended the first half with a 2-1 lead.

The second half saw Tribhuvan Army run riot, with Bhandari completing her hat-trick and adding a fourth goal in the 53rd and 68th minutes, respectively. Bimala Chaudhary scored in the 63rd minute and Bhandari’s final strike in the 73rd minute sealed the emphatic win.

Chandra Bhandari, with her four-goal haul, was rightfully named Player of the Match.
