ANFA/AFC B Diploma Course participants receive certificates

The participants of the ANFA/AFC B Diploma Course were awarded their certificates during a small ceremony held at the ANFA Complex in Satdobato on Monday. ANFA President Pankaj Bikram Nembang distributed the certificates to the 18 successful candidates.

In his address, he expressed hope that the course would produce highly skilled football coaches who would contribute significantly to the growth and development of football in Nepal.

The ANFA/AFC B Diploma Course is designed to elevate the skills of football coaches aspiring to work at a professional level or deepen their understanding of football techniques and tactics. The course covers various aspects such as match day preparation, periodization planning, match analysis, and the roles of support staff.

Coaches are assessed through exams and practical submissions, including individual training sessions and long-term planning. The course was conducted in two phases; the first phase took place in June 2024, while the second phase was held from November 23 to December 8, 2024. A total of 23 participants had taken part in the course.

The closing ceremony was also attended by ANFA General Secretary Kiran Rai, CEO Indraman Tuladhar, Deputy General Secretary Vijay Ghale, Technical Director Hari Khadka, among others.

39 players called up for national women's team closed camp

Thirty-nine players have been called up for the closed camp of the national women's team for the upcoming ANFA International Football Competition to be held at the Dasharath Stadium from February 17-26.

Head coach Rajendra Tamang called up 39 players to his initial list of squad for the national team.

The closed camp of the national team will begin from February 1.

APF secure place in finals with comeback victory

APF Football Club booked their spot in the finals of the ANFA Women’s League with a thrilling 2-1 comeback win over Tribhuvan Army Football Club in the first Qualifier match on Saturday.

In a fiercely contested encounter at the ANFA Complex, Tribhuvan Army took an early lead in the 8th minute and held firm for much of the game. However, APF’s Rashmi Ghising turned the match around with two decisive goals in the final stages.

Ghising netted the equalizer in the 78th minute before completing the comeback 10 minutes later with her second goal, sealing APF’s victory.

With their place in the finals secured, APF will now await the winner of Monday’s clash between Nepal Police Club and Tribhuvan Army Football Club in the second Qualifier.

Police battle for late victory against Bagmati

Nepal Police Club relied on a dramatic late goal from Amrita Jaishi to edge Bagmati Youth Club 1-0 in the Eliminator match of the ANFA Women’s League.

With the stakes high and the loser set to crash out of the competition, Bagmati put on a resolute defensive display, holding the departmental side at bay for much of the game.

Just when the match seemed destined for extra time, Jaishi struck in the second minute of added time, finally breaking Bagmati’s resilience and securing Police's spot in the Qualifiers.

Nepal Police Club will now face the loser of the clash between APF Football Club and Tribhuvan Army Football Club in the second Qualifier match, with a chance to earn a place in the finals.
