Friends hold Three Star to 1-1 draw

Three Star Club rescued a point against Friends Club after a late goal earned them a 1-1 draw in the Qatar Airways Martyr's Memorial 'A' Division League 2021/22 on Friday.

Mikchhen Tamang scored in the 83rd minute for Three Star to secure a point.

Friends foreign recruit Nathaniel Garcia had given them the lead in the 51st minute with a header. The draw saw Three Star climb to third in the table but may lose their position depending on other matches.

Three Star's coach Rabindra Silakar said they had changed the team's formation and flooded the midfield hoping to score. "But we missed opportunities. We have many new faces in the team this season and few experienced players. That is hampering our performance," said Silakar.

Friends Club's coach Mrigendra Mishra said they were happy to hold title contenders Three Star to a draw. "We had put them under pressure and scored. But a mistake saw them level and bounce back," said Mishra.

Satdobato Youth Club will play against APF Football Club in the second match of the day in Dasharath Stadium.

Satdobato stun title favorites Three Star

Promoted Satdobato Youth Club (SYC) stunned Three Star Club (TSC) 1-0 in the Qatar Airways Martyr's Memorial 'A' Division League 2021/22 on Friday.
Sudip Gurung's goal in the 29th minute was the only difference between the two sides at Dasharath Stadium. Three Star was well below their average and beside few chances failed to threaten the opposition. Three Star had won their first match against Chaysal Youth Club 3-0 while Satdobato had played goalless draw against Friends Club.
Satdobato's coach Megh Raj KC said he was happy with team's performance but pointed on multiple aspects where his team can improve. "As a promoted team playing in the top-tier for the first time, we played well. But there are many areas where we should improve as this is a marathon and not a race," said KC. He said they still need to work in their finishing.
Three Star's Urjan Shrestha said they failed to maintain ball possession and had problem with lack of striker in the team. "Our key player Hemanta Thapa Magar could not play due to illness and we missed his absence. We failed to hold ball possession and failed in making attempts," he said. Shrestha said the defeat against Satdobato is likely to hamper their title aspirations.
Sankata Club will play Friends Club in the second match of the day.
