FIFA President Gianni Infantino has congratulated Machhindra Football Club (MFC) for winning the title of Qatar Airways Martyr's Memorial 'A' Division League 2021/22.
MFC were crowned the champions after their final league game against APF Football Club, which they won 2-1, on Saturday.
In the letter addressed to the club, FIFA president said the title was a result of hard work, passion and commitment and everyone at the club can be proud of the achievement. He encouraged to continue working with team spirit, passion and determination.
'I finally take this opportunity to thank you and your Association for your contribution to the development and prosperity of football in Nepal, in your region and around the world,' the letter stated ahead.
MFC won 11 and drew two games conceding just one goal to win the title for the second consecutive time.

Machhindra Football Club's forward Sunil Bal has won the Player of the Tournament award in the Qatar Airways Martyr's Memorial 'A' Division League 2021/22.
Bal also received a cash prize of Rs 300,000 with the award.
The Fair Play award was given to promoted Satdobato Youth Club (SYC). SYC playing for the first time in the top-tier league received Rs 200,000 with the award.
Similarly, Tribhuvan Army Football Club's Dinesh Henjan was the Emerging Player of the tournament pocketing cash prize of Rs 150,000.
The highest scorer of the tournament was Friends Club's Jamoul Anthony Francois. Jamoul scored seven goals in the tournament. New Road Team's forward Messouke Oloumou had also scored seven goals but Jamoul's goals came in fewer minutes than Messouke. Jamoul received a cash prize of Rs 200,000.
MFC's goalkeeper Bishal Shrestha, who conceded just two goals in the tournament, received the Best Goalkeeper award and a cash prize of Rs 200,000.

Machhidra Football Club (MFC) pocketed a cash prize of Rs 7.5 million after winning the Qatar Airways Martyr's Memorial 'A' Division League 2021/22.
MFC won the league winning 11 and drawing two matches. They also conceded just twice in the league.
Second-placed Tribhuvan Army Football Club (TAFC) won Rs 5 million while third placed New Road Team (NRT) took Rs 2.5 million.

Machhindra Football Club (MFC) completed the Qatar Airways Martyr's Memorial 'A' Division League 2021/22 undefeated after a 2-1 victory over APF Football Club (APF).
Abhishek Gurung and Rejin Subba scored for MFC in the victory. Gurung opened the scoring in the 42nd minute before Pradip Lama levelled the score for APF in the 69th minute.
Subba sealed the points and the victory for the champions in the 81st minute. APF had few opportunities towards the end of the game to level the game but were let down by poor finishing and some good saves by MFC's goalkeeper Bishal Shrestha.
The victory means MFC completed the league with 35 points including 11 victories and two draws. The team conceded only twice in the league.
Defeated APF finished eighth on the table with 15 points.
