Shree Bhagawati, Saraswoti and Boys Union begin with win

Shree Bhagawati Club, Saraswoti Youth Club and Boys Union Club began their Martyr's Memorial 'B' Division League 2078 campaign with wins.

In the first day of the league, Shree Bhagawati Club defeated Jhamsikhel Youth Club 3-1 while Saraswoti edged past Bansbari Club with the same scoreline. Boys Union defeated Birgunj United 1-0.

Anil Gurung, Ramesh Uraw and Milan Khadka scored for Shree Bhagawati while Man Kumar Rai pulled one back for Jhamsikhel.

In the second match, Bikram Bisunkhe, Sujan Lama and Bhupendra Shahi scored for Saraswoti in the comeback win against Bansbari whose goal was scored by Bikey Rai. 

Milan Limbu scored the only goal for Boys Union in the third match.

Church Boys United will play Tushal Youth Club and Shree Kumari Club will face Nayabasti Youth Club in the second match on Thursday. The third match will be played between Ranipokhari Corner Team will take on Khumaltar Youth Club.

Martyr's Memorial 'B' Division League begins

The Martyr's Memorial 'B' Division League 2078 has begun from Wednesday.

Secretary at Ministry of Youth and Sports Damodar Regmi inaugurated the event by handing over the match ball to match officials admist a special function at ANFA Complex.

Fourteen B division clubs are taking part in the competition. The league will be played in single round robin format with the top two teams promoted to the A division. Bottom two clubs will be relegated to C division.

The winner of the league will also receive a cash prize of Rs 1.5 million while the second-placed team will receive Rs 1 million. The third-placed team will win Rs 500,000.

Futsal squad down to 22

The national futsal team coach has been reduced to 22 on Tuesday.

Head coach Gaurav Basnet left out 10 players from his squad. The team is currently in closed camp for the AFC Futsal Asian Cup Qualifiers to be held from April 1-15 in Kyrgyzstan.

Nepal have been drawn against Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Afghanistan in Group B of the tournament.

U-18 women's squad down to 30

U-18 women's national team squad, currently in closed camp training for the SAFF U-18 Women's Championship to be held in Jamshedpur, India, from 15-25 March, has been reduced to 30.

Head coach Darshan Bhakta Raj Lawat has left out 10 players from the initial 40 called up for the squad.

Three teams―Nepal, India and Bangladesh―are playing in the championship.
