Jawakhel rout Nepal Police, APF defeat Machhindra

Jawalakhel Youth Club climbed to the top of the standings after a 6-1 victory over Nepal Police Club at Chyasal Stadium on Wednesday.

Fode Fofana's penalty in the 30th minute gave Jawalakhel the lead after Police skipper Ram Chandra Wajee saw red for handling the box inside the box.

After a 1-0 first half lead, Hishub Thapaliya scored in the 51st followed by Nkoto Synous Masoabi's strike in the 65th minute. Masoabi scored again in the 81st minute and Thapaliya too doubled his tally three minutes later.

Nepal Police's foreign recruit Moses Gyabaah Twum pulled one back for the departmental side but Abdulaziz Nishonbaev's goal in the added minute completed the rout for Jawalakhel.

APF Football Club defeated defending champions Machhindra Football Club 1-0 through Armand Beadoum's goal in the 40th minute at Dasharath Stadium.

Friends Club continued their renaissance to climb out of the bottom zone with a 3-1 defeat of Sankata Club. Prakash Budathoki gave Friends the lead in the fourth minute but Sankata levelled five minutes later through Junior Onguene Nkengue. But a Rafiq Aminu's brace first of which in the 35th minute and second in the added minutes of the game sealed the points for Friends Club.

NRT, Tribhuvan Army register wins

New Road Team defeated FC Khumaltar 3-1 and Tribhuvan Army Football Club defeated Manang Marsyangdi Club 1-0 in the Martyr's Memorial A Division League 2023 on Tuesday.

In the matches at Dasharath Stadium, Saroj Tamang in the 65th, Sanjeeb Bista in the 82nd and Mohit Gurung in the 85th minute scored for NRT. Shyamu Murmu pulled one back for Khumaltar in the 90th minute.

In the second match of the day, Sudail Rai's solitary goal in the 75th minute helped Army to victory over Manang.

Final squad of U-17 national women's team announced

The final squad of national U-17 team for 2024 AFC U-17 Women's Asian Cup Qualifiers has been announced.

U-17 national women's team head coach Bishnu Gurung announced his squad on Friday.

Nepal are grouped against hosts Jordan and Iran in Group H of the tournament to be played from

April 26-30. Nepal will play its first match against Iran on April 26 followed against game against Jordan on April 28.

AFC officials visit ANFA for AFC MA Refereeing Administration Project visit

A refereeing delegation from the AFC has arrived in Nepal for the AFC MA Refereeing Administration Project assessment visit. 

AFC's Referee Department Head of Operations Hirokazu Abe and Project Manager Chang Seok Rhee arrived in Nepal on Tuesday. 

The duo conducted an assessment and a Q&A session upon their arrival at ANFA Complex on Tuesday. They observed the referee development activities conducted by ANFA and also attended a Marty's Memorial A Division League match for Onsite STAR Programme Course. 

A discussion on Onsite STAR Programme Course and referee development in Nepal was discussed with ANFA General Secretary Kiran Rai, ANFA Referee Committee Chairperson Buddhi Bahadur Gurung, ANFA Referee Department Head Gokul Thapa and ANFA Referee Department Manager Rojen Shrestha on Thursday.  

The Onsite Star Programme will begin after the second visit by the AFC delegation
