Nepal emerged victorious over Bhutan in their second match of the SAFF U-19 Championship, clinching a 1-0 win at the BSSSMK Stadium in Dhaka on Sunday.
After suffering a setback with a 3-1 loss to hosts Bangladesh in their opening match, Nepal knew they had to secure a win to keep their hopes alive for the finals. Despite a tough first half where they struggled to break down Bhutan's defense, Nepal persevered and continued to press forward.
It wasn't until the 54th minute that Nepal finally found the breakthrough they were searching for, with Senu Pariyar netting the decisive goal after skillfully evading Bhutan's goalkeeper.
With this crucial victory, Nepal remains in contention for a spot in the finals of the regional competition. Securing three points from today's win, Nepal currently sits in third place, trailing behind leaders India and second-placed Bangladesh.
