Nepal APF Football Club declared winners of National Women's League 2078

Nepal APF Football Club has been declared as the winners of the National Women's League 2078.

The fourth Ex-Co meeting of ANFA declared APF as the winners. APF had topped the table followed by Nepal Police Club and Tribhuvan Army Football Club in second and third respectively.

The meeting decided to provide Rs 700,000 to winners APF followed by Rs 500,000 to second-placed Nepal Police Club and Rs 300,000 to Tribhuvan Army Football Club.

The National Women's League 2078 was halted for various reasons after conclusion of the first round in Sharadanagar Football Ground in Chitwan. The first round of National Women's League was held in Chitwan from March 24 to April 13, 2022.

The meeting also decided to seek proposals for organizing the National Women's League 2079.

Fourth ANFA Ex-Co meeting concludes

The fourth Executive Committee meeting of All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) has concluded on Wednesday.

The meeting was held at ANFA Complex in Satdobato and was chaired by ANFA President Pankaj Bikram Nembang.

Initial squad for Women's Olympic Football Asian Qualifiers announced

Nepal's initial squad for the upcoming Women's Olympic Football Asian Qualifiers for Paris Olympics 2024 has been announced.

National women's team head coach Ananta Raj Thapa announced his 35-member preliminary squad on Monday. The closed camp for the competition will begin from March 3 at ANFA Complex.

Nepal will host the tournament and are grouped with Afghanistan and Vietnam in Group C. After Afghanistan play Vietnam on April 5, Nepal will play their first match against Afghanistan on April 8 followed by against Vietnam on April 11. All the matches will be played at Dasharath Stadium.

Coach Thapa had led Nepal in two friendlies against India as part of preparations of the competition. Nepal drew the first match 2-2 on February 15 while the second friendly on February 18 ended goalless.

ANFA signs Marketing, Broadcasting and Digital and Ticketing agreement with MDAC Sports

All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) has signed Marketing, Broadcasting and Digital and Ticketing rights of the Martyr's Memorial A, B and C Division League with MDAC Sports Pvt. Ltd.

The agreement was signed amid a press meet organized at ANFA Complex in Satdobato on Monday ANFA General Secretary Kiran Rai and MDAC's CEO Arjun Ghimire signed in the agreement.

As per the agreement, MDAC will provide NRs 19.7 million to ANFA and will become the sole holder of the rights of the leagues. MDAC will broadcast the matches live in Space 4K Television and its online platforms. An agreement regarding broadcasting the matches live has already been signed.

ANFA General Secretary Rai and MDAC's CEO Ghimire answered queries from the media persons during the press meet.

Rai said the agreement with MDAC covers all the top three leagues organized by ANFA. "We invited for bids fixing a minimum rate that was determined by our Ex-Co meeting. But after no bids was received, we decided to scrape the minimum rate and instead go for the highest bidder," said Rai.

Rai informed MDAC has paid 50 percent of the total amount to ANFA and given bank guarantee for the remaining amount.

MDAC's CEO Ghimire said they wanted to make the upcoming league a successful one. "As a keen football fan, we wanted to contribute towards the sports sector of the country and wish to start with the leagues," said Ghimire.

The Martyr's Memorial 'A' Division League 2023 begins from March 3. The league will be played in double round robin format and matches will be played at Dasharath Stadium, Chyasal Stadium and ANFA Complex.
