Manang steal point against Jawalakhel, NRT draw Friends

Jawalakhel Youth Club missed a golden chance to strengthen their lead at the top of the table after Manang Marsyangdi Club came from 2-0 down to draw 2-2 and snatch a point on Sunday.

In the match at Chyasal Stadium, Nkoto Synous Masoabi and Hishub Thapaliya gave them the 2-0 lead. Masoabi scored the team's first in the 34th minute before Thapaliya doubled it in the 75. But Bhison Gurung's goal in the 81st minute and Sumit Shrestha's leveler in the first minute of the added time secured a point for Manang.

Leaders Jawalakhel could have taken a three points lead at the top but had to be content with just one.

In the other match at ANFA Complex in Satdobato, New Road Team and Friends Club shared an entertaining 2-2 draw.

Rafiq Aminu gave Friends the lead in the 28th minute but an own goal from Amit Tamang levelled the game for New Road Team. Tamang, however, made amends and restored the lead in the 66th minute from the penalty spot. When Jean Anicet Mboumi missed the penalty for New Road Team with 10 minutes remaining, Friends thought they had won the match only for Nicolas Serge Song scoring one minute from time to level the game.

The draw means New Road Team are eighth with 22 points and Friends have 20 points and are in the 11th place.

Coach Vincenzo to conduct third tactical training on May 17

National men's team Vincenzo Alberto Annese will conduct third tactical training on May 17.

Thirty-one players have been called up by coach Annese to take part in the training. Two similar trainings were conducted on April 14 and May 1 to prepare the national team for the SAFF Championship.

Machhindra into top three after defeating Three Star, Army defeat API Power Church Boys

Machhindra Football Club defeated Three Star Club to overtake them and move to third in the table of the Martyr's Memorial A Division League 2023 on Saturday.

In the match at Chyasal Stadium, Yuta Suzuki scored the only goal for Machhindra in the win. A shot from Afeez Olawale Oladipo was parried away by Three Star goalkeeper Purna Chemjong into's Suzuki's path who tucked the ball into the net.

The victory means Machhindra are into the top three spot for the first time this league with 27 points.

API Power Church Boys United lost 1-0 to Tribhuvan Army Football Club and failed to restore the three point lead at the top. Gillespye Jung Karki's only goal in the 43rd minute gave Army the win at Dasharath Stadium.

The win would have taken Church Boys above leaders Jawalakhel Youth Club but are now second due to inferior head-to-head difference to the leaders.

Royal Blue Satdobato Youth Club defeated APF Football Club 3-0 in the third game of the day. William Asiedu gave Satdobato the lead in the 13th minute before a brace from Dipak Raj Singh Thakuri sealed the win.

Thakuri scored his first in the 36th minute and added his second in the 77th minute.

The victory propelled Satdobato to fourth in the table as the 17th round of the league concluded.

NRT defeat Khumaltar in thriller, Police out of bottom zone after Sankata Victory

New Road Team came from 2-0 down to defeat FC Khumaltar 3-2 in the Martyr's Memorial A Division League 2023 on Friday.

In the final match of the day at Dasharath Stadium, Stephane Samir Binong and Rajiv Lopchan gave Khumaltar the two-cushion lead inside the 40th minute. Binong scored the team's first in the 32nd minute and Lopchan added another seven minutes later.

NRT, however, had the final say with Bikram Dhimal and Lalnunzama scored twice in two minutes before Nicolas Serge Song wrapped up the points.

Dhimal pulled one back in the 62nd minute and Lalnunzama scored another two minutes later. Song completed the comeback with the team's third goal in the 84th minute.

Nepal Police Club defeated Sankata Club 2-1 to climb out of the relegation zone in the first match of the day. Moses Gyabaah Twum gave Police the lead in the eighth minute before Nishan Khadka levelled the game in the 23rd minute.

Muhammed Ashiq Shoukathali scored the winning goal for Police in the 79th minute to complete the victory. Police now have 19 points, level with Friends Club but above them due to super head-to-head difference.

The second match of the day at ANFA Complex between Himalayan Sherpa Club and Manang Marsyangdi Club ended in 1-1 draw. Nirajan Dhami gave Manang the lead in the 14th minute with Abayomi Oluwaseun Fakunle levelling for Sherpa in the 36th.
