U-20 women's final squad for AFC U-20 Womens Asian Cup Qualifiers announced

Nepal's U-20 national women's team final squad for the second round of AFC U-20 Women's Asian Cup Qualifiers has been announced.

Head coach Yam Prasad Gurung announced his squad on Friday.

Nepal have been drawn alongside China, Myanmar and Chinese Taipei in Group B of the qualifiers.

Nepal will play their first match against hosts Myanmar on June 6 followed by against China on June 8. Nepal's final match against Chinese Taipei will be played on June 10.

Nepal had defeated hosts Palestine and Northern Mariana Island by a similar score of 6-0 in the first round in Palestine to qualify for the second round.

Final squad:

Goalkeeper: Kabita BK, Lila Joshi, Sabitri Kisan

Defenders: Sabina Chaudhary, Tulasa Bohara, Sunita Bhulan, Simran Rai, Divya Yasmali Magar, Pratikshya Chaudhary, Sajani Thokar, Kumari Tamang

Meeting with B division clubs ends positively

A meeting between All Nepal Football Association and B Division clubs at ANFA Complex in Satdobato ended on a very positive note on Tuesday.

The meeting was held over conduction of Martyr's Memorial B Division League.

Representatives from both sides put forth their opinion and have agreed to hold another round of parleys soon.

ANFA President Pankaj Bikram Nembang, Senior Vice President Bir Bahadur Khadka, Vice President Deepak Khatiwada, General Secretary Kiran Rai, Treasurer Rabindra Joshi and representatives from B division clubs took part in the discussion.

Police stun Three Star, Khumaltar defeat Satdobato

Nepal Police Club defeated Three Star Club to move eighth in the Martyr's Memorial A Division League 2023 on Tuesday.

Ahmad Hijazi scored the only goal of the game for Nepal Police in the 28th minute. Hijazi pounced on a defensive error by Three Star defenders to score the goal.

Three Star, now ninth game without a win, are sixth with 26 points.

In other game, FC Khumaltar defeated Royal Blue Satdobato Youth Club with the same scoreline. Messouke Etiegnie Oloumou scored for Khumaltar in the 38th minute of the game. Oloumou, the joint top-scorer of the league with 15 goals, was later substituted due to a muscle injury.

Khumaltar are bottom of the league with 21 points, level on points with Friends Club.

Church Boys top despite being held against Sherpa, Army overpower Friends

API Power Church Boys United are three points clear at the top of the table despite a 1-1 draw against Himalayan Sherpa Club in the Martyr's Memorial A Division League 2023 on Monday.

In the match at Chyasal Stadium, Church Boys took the lead with in-form Anjan Bista in the 12th minute. Sherpa drew the game through Abayomi Oluwaseun Fakunle's strike in the 35th minute.

In the other match of the day at ANFA Complex in Satdobato, Tribhuvan Army Football Club defeated Friends Club 3-0.

Jagjeet Shrestha, Nawayug Shrestha and Sudil Rai scored for the departmental side.

Jagjeet gave Army the lead in the 26th minute. Friends Club could have got back into the game when they were awarded a penalty but Dona Thapa's shot was saved by Bikesh Kuthu.

Thapa's miss proved costly as Nawayug doubled the lead in the 76th from the spot. Rai then sealed the win with a third goal in the added minutes of the game.

Sherpa are seventh with 26 points in the table. Army moved to fifth with 29 points while Friends are 13th with 21.
