Ananta Tamang Most Valuable player, Laken Limbu Emerging Player

API Power Church Boys United's Ananta Tamang won the Most Valuable Player of the Tournament of the Qatar Airways Martyr's Memorial A Division League 2023.

Tamang won cash prize of Rs 300,000 with the award. Three Star Club Laken Limbu won the Emerging Youth Player- Mani Shahi Emerging Award and pocketed Rs 150,000.

Nepal Police Club won the Fair Play Team award and won Rs 300,000. With 23 goals, Machhindra Football Club's Highest scorer Award and won Rs 200,000.

Church Boys Yves Priso won the Best Goalkeeper Lok Bahadur Shahi Best Goalkeepar Award and won Rs 200,000.

APF relegated after Three Star win, Machhindra conclude league with win

APF Football Club have been relegated to the B division after Three Star Club defeated Jawalakhel Youth Club in the Qatar Airways Martyr's Memorial A Division League 2023 on Saturday.

In the league's final match at Dasharath Stadium, Bikram Lama scored from the penalty spot in the 83rd minute to secure the win that would only secure Three Star's A division status. Three Star were awarded the penalty after Lama was brought down inside the box by substitute Pramin Shrestha.

In the other two matches, Sankata Club played a 1-1 draw against New Road Team at Chyasal Stadium while Machhindra Football Club concluded their league campaign with a 3-1 win over Manang Marsyangdi Club at Dasharath Stadium.

Sankata had taken the lead through Nelson Yuniwo Konfor in the added minute of first half. A silly mistake by NRT's goalkeeper Santosh Mahat saw the ball roll into the net from in between his legs.

NRT, however, levelled the game through Bikram Dhimal just one minute from the 90th minute.

Afeez Olawale Oladipo scored a brace for Machhindra as they defeated Manang. Manang had taken the lead through Bijay Shrestha's 16th minute strike before Olawale levelled the game in the 80th minute. Six minutes later Bimal Gharti Magar put Machhindra ahead before Olawale scored again in the added minutes of the game.

Nepal suffer second consecutive loss

Nepal's hopes of making it to the next round of AFC U-20 Women's Asian Cup Qualifiers ended after suffering a 5-0 loss to China in the second match.

Nepal had lost their first match against hosts Myanmar with the similar scoreline.

Nepal were 4-0 down in the first half before putting up an improved performance in the second half.

Ouyang Yuhyan put China ahead in the 16th minute before Huo Yuexin added a second in the 26th minute. Yin Lihong and Lu Juayu scored twice in three minutes of added time in the first half before Yu Jiaqi wrapped up the win with the fifth in the 89th minute.

Nepal will play their third and final match against Chinese Taipei on Saturday.

Nepal lose to China in AFC U-20 Women's Asian Cup Qualifiers second round opening match

Nepal U-20 national women's team lost 5-0 against hosts Myanmar in the opening match of the AFC U-20 Women's Asian Cup Qualifiers second round on Tuesday.

Yin Loon Eain scored a hat-trick for China at Thuwunna Stadium in Yangon. Zin Moe Pyae and Yoon Wadi Hlaing scored the other two goals for Myanmar.

Pyae gave Myanmar the lead in the 22nd minute which was doubled by Eain in the 44th minute. Eain scored her second a minute after the restart before Hlaing scored the team's fourth in the 70th.

Eain completed her hat-trick in the 90th minute for Myanmar.

Nepal will now play their second match against China on Thursday.
