Laligurans cruise over Nawa Jana Jagriti, victories for NRT and Machhindra FC

National League action continued on Monday with Laligurans Association, NRT and Machhindra FC emerging victorious from matches played in Kathmandu.

At the ANFA Complex, Laligurans Association produced a strong second-half display to defeat Nawa Jana Jagriti Club 4-1. Abdul Yusuph Haule opened the scoring in the 26th minute before Ashish Gurung struck twice in quick succession in the 55th and 60th minutes to put Laligurans firmly in control. Akoete Junior Donou added a fourth goal late in the match in the 89th minute. Nawa Jana Jagriti Club pulled one back in stoppage time through Umesh Sanjel, who scored in the 90+1 minute.

In the second match at the Dasharath Stadium, NRT registered a 3-1 victory over Satdobato Youth Club. Bigyan Khadka gave NRT an early lead in the 8th minute, which was doubled by Timothy Chiemerie Okereke in the 17th minute. Satdobato reduced the deficit through Fode Fofana in the 33rd minute, but Bigyan Khadka sealed the win with his second goal deep into stoppage time in the 90+3 minute.

The final match of the day saw Machhindra FC edge past Manang Marsyangdi Club 2-1 at the Dasharath Stadium. Sanish Shrestha put Machhindra ahead in the 8th minute before Manang Marsyangdi Club equalised just before halftime through Bishesh Lama in the 45+1 minute. Machhindra regained the lead in the 57th minute when Jonathan Eduardo Cantillana found the net, a goal that proved decisive.

Sankata FC and Jawalakhel YC cruise to big wins as APF FC Edge Friends Club

The National League action on Sunday unfolded across the Chyasal Stadium and ANFA Complex, producing convincing wins for Sankata FC and Jawalakhel Youth Club alongside a hard-earned victory for APF FC.

At the Chyasal Stadium, Sankata FC produced an emphatic performance to defeat Kankre Bihar Club 4-0. Anish Maharjan opened the scoring in the 14th minute before Krishna Bahadur Ale doubled the lead in first-half stoppage time. Sankata continued their dominance after the break as Bishal Tamang scored in the 55th minute, while Wendpanga Gilbert Bilgo added a fourth in the 74th minute to complete the convincing victory.

In the second match at the same venue, APF Football Club edged past Friends Club with a 1-0 win. The decisive moment came in the 25th minute when Friends Club’s Khemraj Shrestha inadvertently turned the ball into his own net, handing APF all three points.

Meanwhile, at the ANFA Complex, Jawalakhel Youth Club delivered a commanding display to defeat Shree Bhagawati Club 4-0. Nicholas Odane Hamilton gave Jawalakhel the perfect start by scoring in the opening minute before Dharbendra Kunwar struck twice, finding the net in the 4th and 57th minutes. Hamilton then completed the rout with a stoppage-time goal in the 90+5 minute.

Chitlang FC, Tribhuvan Army FC and Planning Boyz United secure wins

Three matches were played on Saturday in the National League 2082, with Chitlang Football Club, Tribhuvan Army Football Club and Planning Boyz United registering victories at the ANFA Complex and Dasharath Stadium.

In the first match of the day at the ANFA Complex, Chitlang Football Club edged past Nawa Jana Jagriti Yuwa Club 2-1. Mathew Babatunde opened the scoring in the 28th minute before Nawa Jana Jagriti Yuwa Club drew level through Udit Narayan Chaudhary in the 36th minute. Chitlang regained the lead in the 62nd minute when Solomon Adeyinka Ilesanmi found the net to secure all three points.

At the Dasharath Stadium, Tribhuvan Army Football Club produced a dominant performance to defeat Manang Marsyangdi Club 5-0. Nabin Lama gave Army an early lead from the penalty spot in the 15th minute. Nirajan Dhami extended the advantage with goals in the 34th and 77th minutes, while Nawayug Shrestha added another in the 67th minute. Gillespye Jung Karki completed the rout with a stoppage-time goal in the 90+2 minute.

In the third match of the day, Planning Boyz United claimed a narrow 1-0 victory over Nepal Police Club at the Dasharath Stadium. Shankar Tharu scored the decisive goal in the 53rd minute to earn Planning Boyz United three valuable points.

Nepal register first win at SAFF U-19 Women’s Championship with 2-1 victory over Bhutan

Nepal secured their first victory of the SAFF U-19 Women’s Championship with a 2-1 win over Bhutan in Pokhara on Monday.

After suffering a narrow 1-0 defeat against India in their opening match, Nepal bounced back strongly to collect three important points in their second group-stage fixture.

Srijana Baduwal put Nepal ahead in the 36th minute, giving the hosts a deserved lead going into halftime. Nepal maintained their attacking intent after the break and extended the advantage in the 69th minute when Prajita Rai found the back of the net.

Bhutan managed to reduce the deficit late in the match as Sonam Choden scored in the 87th minute, but Nepal held firm in the closing minutes to seal the win.

Nepal will now turn their focus to their next group match against Bangladesh, scheduled for Wednesday.
