ANFA holds refresher course for ANFA Women's League 2081 match officials

A Pre-Season Course for match officials of the ANFA Women's League 2081 has begun at ANFA Complex in Satdobato from Thursday.

All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) organized the three-day Course beginning from Thursday for the referees ahead of the ANFA Women's League 2081. The course serves as a comprehensive review of refereeing rules and regulations, including the laws of the game, conduct and ethics, player safety, and more. Participants will engage in both theoretical and practical sessions designed to enhance their refereeing knowledge.

All referees officiating in the upcoming ANFA Women's League 2081 are required to attend the course. ANFA's Referee Department organizes such courses before the start of every major domestic tournament.

Bangladesh stun Nepal to win SAFF U-20 Championship title

Bangladesh secured the SAFF U-20 Championship title with a stunning 4-1 win over Nepal on Wednesday at the ANFA Complex in Satdobato.

The match saw Bangladesh dominate from start to finish. Mirajul Islam opened the scoring in the added minute of the first half, silencing the full-capacity crowd. The game, moved to ANFA Complex due to unfavorable pitch conditions at Dasharath Stadium, saw Bangladesh continue their impressive performance in the second half.

Islam scored again in the 55th minute, extending Bangladesh's lead to 2-0. Mohammed Rabby Hossen Rahul furthered the gap with a third goal in the 71st minute. Nepal briefly ignited hopes of a comeback when Samir Tamang scored, but those hopes were dashed when Mohammed Piash Ahmmed Nova netted a fourth goal for Bangladesh in stoppage time.

The prize presentation was attended by Minister for Youth and Sports Teju Lal Chaudhary, National Sports Council Member Secretary Tanka Lal Ghising, ANFA President Pankaj Bikram Nembang, and General Secretary Kiran Rai.

Bangladesh's Mirajul Islam was named Player of the Tournament, while goalkeeper Mohammad Asif received the Best Goalkeeper award. Nepal was honored with the Fair Play Team award.

Nepal advances to SAFF U-20 Championship final with penalty shootout victory over Bhutan

Nepal secured their spot in the final of the SAFF U-20 Championship 2024 by defeating Bhutan in a penalty shootout on Sunday.

Bhutan took the lead in the 56th minute when Jetsuen Dorji scored, putting the away team ahead. Nepal equalized in the 78th minute with a goal from Nirajan Dhami, marking his third goal of the tournament.

With the match tied 1-1 after regular time, the game proceeded to a penalty shootout. Nepal's goalkeeper Jiyarat Sheikh played a crucial role, making two key saves and helping secure a 4-1 victory in the shootout.

Nepal will now await the winner of the other semi-final, where India will face Bangladesh on Monday.

Nepal clinches semi-final spot as Group A winners with victory over Bangladesh

Nepal secured their place in the semi-finals of the SAFF U-20 Championship 2024 by defeating Bangladesh 2-1, finishing atop Group A.

The decisive match took place at the ANFA Complex in Satdobato on Thursday. Samir Tamang and Nirajan Dhami scored two quick goals in the first half to lead Nepal to victory. Tamang capitalized on a mistake by Bangladesh goalkeeper Mohammed Mehdi Hasan Srabon, scoring into an open net in the 17th minute. Just a minute later, Dhami doubled Nepal's lead with a well-placed shot.

Bangladesh reduced the deficit with a penalty goal from Mirajul Islam in the 43rd minute but could not find the equalizer.
