35 players called up for national U-17 women's closed camp

The All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) has announced a list of 35 players selected for the closed camp of the national U-17 women’s football team, following district, provincial, and central level selections.

Head coach Chet Narayan Shrestha finalized the squad after the conclusion of the central selection held in Hetauda, Makwanpur, where standout talents from across the country were assessed.

The selected players will now begin intensive training in preparation for the upcoming SAFF U-17 Women’s Championship, which is set to take place in Bhutan from August 20 to 31.

Nepal finish second as Bangladesh Clinch SAFF U-20 Women’s Championship title

Nepal fell short in their title bid, losing 0-4 to Bangladesh in the decisive final group match of the SAFF U-20 Women’s Championship 2025.

The match, which effectively served as the tournament final, saw MST Sagorika shine for Bangladesh, scoring all four goals in the 8th, 51st, 58th, and 77th minutes. Her commanding performance powered Bangladesh to a comprehensive victory and secured their championship title.

Nepal, who had shown impressive form throughout the tournament with high-scoring wins over Bhutan and Sri Lanka, struggled to find their rhythm against a well-organized Bangladeshi side.

Nepal’s Purnima Rai ended the competition on a high note, finishing as the tournament’s top scorer with 10 goals.

Nepal demolish Bhutan 8-0 in SAFF U-20 Women’s Championship

Nepal produced a sensational performance to thrash Bhutan 8-0 in the SAFF U-20 Women’s Championship 2025.

Meena Deuba led the charge with a stunning hat-trick, scoring in the 1st, 12th, and 65th minutes to give Nepal early control of the match. Samikshya Magar added another in the 9th minute, continuing her impressive form in the tournament.

Purnima Rai once again showcased her goal-scoring prowess with a first-half hat-trick of her own, striking in the 23rd, 45+1st, and 45+6th minutes, giving Nepal a dominant 6-0 lead going into halftime.

The scoring spree continued in the second half as Kusum Khatiwada found the net in the 63rd minute to extend the margin.

Nepal outclass Sri Lanka again in SAFF U-20 Women’s Championship

Nepal continued their dominant run in the SAFF U-20 Women’s Championship 2025 with a resounding 7-0 victory over Sri Lanka.

Purnima Rai opened the scoring in the 16th minute, setting the tone for what would be a one-sided affair. Kusum Khatiwada struck twice in quick succession in the 35th and 44th minutes, while Sarita Kumari Nath added another in the 42nd minute to give Nepal a commanding 4-0 lead at halftime.

In the second half, Birsana Chaudhary extended the lead with a composed penalty in the 67th minute. Samikshya Magar then wrapped up the emphatic win with two quick goals in the 74th and 78th minutes.
