Church Boys win 'C' Division League; Birgunj United and Samajik Yuwa also promoted

Church Boys United have been crowned the champions of Martyr's Memorial 'C' Division League after finishing on the top after the completion of Super Six round.

Birgunj United Club and Samajik Yuwa Club, who finished on second and third position, were also promoted to the 'B' Division.

Church Boys defeated Jhapa Football Club 2-1 to finish at the top. Rejan Majhi scored for Church Boys in the 20th minute to give them the lead. Seven minutes later, Som Thapa doubled their lead. Jhapa pulled one back in the added minutes of first half through Shyamu Muramu but were unable to add any further.

Only a win in today's match would have taken Jhapa into the 'B' Division.

Samajik Yuwa Club defeated Birgunj Youth Academy, who needed just a point, 1-0 to finish in third position with solitary goal from Prabin Kumar Khawas in the 16th minute.

Birgunj United defeated Pinnacle Khalibari Youth Football Club 3-1 in the first match of the day. Substitute Sandip Chaudhary opened Birgunj United's first in the 61st minute. Bibek Chaudhary added a second in the 69th and after Iman lama made it 2-1 for Khalibari in the 83rd, Chatrudhan Chaudhary ensured the 3-1 victory in the 87th.

Champions Church Boys won Rs 1 million while runner-up Birgunj United took Rs 700,000. Third-placed Samajik Yuwa won Rs 400,000.

Birgunj's Dil Mani Chaudhary won Best Goalkeeper award while Sanam Rai from Church Boys was Best Defender. Church Boys Saiman Limbu was Best Midfielder and Bibek Chaudhary of Birgunj United won Best Forward award. Sandip Khadka of Samajik Yuwa was Best Coach. All the players and officials won Rs 25,000 for the individual award.

Jhapa won Rs 50,000 after winning the Fair Play Team award.

Dhuku Futsal wins Bagmati qualifier, four teams qualify for National Futsal League

Dhuku Futsal defeated Sankhamul Futsal 8-2 to win the Bagmati Qualifier of 'A' Division National Futsal League. 

Dhuku's Aamid Halid was declared as the Player of the Match.

Four teams--Dhuku Futsal, Sankhamul Futsal, Prabhatpheri Youth Club, Sky Goals-- have qualified from Bagmati Province for the 'A' Division National Futsal League.

ANFA ExCo Member and Futsal Coordinator Ratna Kumar Shrestha, also the chief guest of the final day programme, distributed prizes to the winning team and players.

ANFA referee course concludes in Dang

The seven-day ANFA Referee Course Category 4 has concluded in Ghorahi Dang.

Thirty-five participants from seven districts--Banke, Bardiya, Nawalparasi, Palpa, Rupandehi, Kapilvastu and Dang--had taken part in the course which started on Monday.

Eighteen participants completed the course.

The closing session was chaired by President of Dang District Football Association Sushil Shrestha. Narayan Singh Shrestha, senior sports person in Dang, was the chief guest.

Buddhi Bahadur Gurung and Laba Khatri were the technical instructors and Sailesh Joshi was the fitness instructor of the course.

The course was coordinated by Rojen Shrestha.

Church Boys win as Super Six round enters final day

Church Boys United defeated Birgunj Youth Academy in Super Six round as bid for promotion will go onto the final day.

Subash Tamang scored in the 44th minute in victory for Church Boys.

The other two matches of the day ended on draws.

Birgunj United Club shared points with Jhapa Football Club after a goalless draw while Pinnacle Khalibari Youth FC played a 1-1 draw with Samajik Yuwa Club.

Basanta Bahadur Rana gave Samajik the lead in the 49th minute. Khalibari levelled through Suraj Bhujel in the 81st.

Khalibari will play against Birgunj United, Samajik against Birgunj Youth and Church Boys will face Jhapa in the final matches of the round on Monday.
