Nepal with Iran, Lebanon and Tajikistan in AFC U23 Asian Cup 2022 Qualifiers

Nepal have been drawn alongside Iran, Lebanon and Tajikistan in Group B for the the AFC U23 Asian Cup 2022 Qualifiers.

The 42 teams were drawn into 11 groups with 15 spots available at the AFC U23 Asian Cup 2022 with Uzbekistan having already confirmed their place as hosts, the first time the tournament will be staged in the Central Zone.

The draw divided the teams into two Regions – the West Region comprising 23 West, South and Central Participating Teams as well as the East Region, which consists of 19 East and ASEAN Participating Teams.

The West Region comprises six groups in total – five groups of four teams and one group of three teams – while the East Region features four groups of four teams and one group of three teams, with the 11 group winners and four best second-placed teams sealing their qualification to the Finals.

The Qualifiers are scheduled for October 23 to 31, 2021.

'A' Division National Futsal League to begin from August 7

The 'A' Division National Futsal League will begin from August 7 in Pokhara.

Ten futsal teams who qualified for the tournament following a provincial qualification round will take part in the competition.

The tournament will also be the basis for selection of national futsal team players for the AFC Futsal Asian Cup 2022 Qualifiers.

45 players called up for closed camp training

National women's team head coach Gary Phillips has called up 45 players for the closed camp training to prepare for the 2022 AFC Women's Asian Cup qualification.

The closed camp training will begin on July 18.

Nepal have been drawn alongside Philippines and Hong Kong in Group F for the tournament. The qualifiers matches will be held from September 13-25.

First phase of AFC/ANFA 'B' Licence course begins

A three-day first phase of AFC/ANFA 'B' License Coaching Certificate Course 2021 has begun from Monday.

ANFA's Vice President and Chairman of Youth Development Committee Upendra Man Singh gave welcome speech in the virtual programme attended by 22 participants.

Technical Director Gary Phillips is conducting the course.

The course will last until July 7. The second phase of the course will be conducted from July 12-14.
