Dhangadhi lose first match, Bhandari's hat-trick sinks Chandrapur

Rashmi Ghising scored a hat-trick as Tribhuvan Army Football Club condemned Dhangadhi sub-metropolitan city to their first defeat of the National Women's League 2078 in Chitwan on Saturday.

Ghising scored in the 35th, 48th and 58th minute to complete her hat-trick. The other three goals were scored by Bimala Chaudhary in the 45th minute, Amisha Karki in the 82nd and Kusum Khatiwada in the 88th minute.

In the first game of the day, Sabitra Bhandari scored a hat-trick as APF defeated Chandrapur Municipality Rautahat 8-0. Bhandari scored in the 23rd, 50th and 90th minute. Anita KC had given APF the lead in the fourth minute. Manjali Kumari Yonjan scored the team's second in the 15th and Anita Basnet put APF three up a minute later.

Yonjan also scored in the 31st minute to complete her brace. Anu Lama also got into the scoresheet in the 71st. The consolation for Chandrapur was scored by Sumitra Singh Pakhrin in the 86th minute.

APF also moved to the summit after the comfortable victory.

APF, Dhangadhi register big wins

APF Football Club defeated Waling Municipality Syangja 7-0 and Dhangadhi sub-metropolitan city cruised past Lalitpur Metropolitan City 6-0 in the National Women's League 2078 on Thursday.

Sabitra Bhandari scored four and Anita KC, Saru Limbu and Anita Basnet scored one each in the departmental side's big win over Waling.

KC opened the scoring in the 24th minute before Limbu doubled in the 40th. Bhandari scored twice in the 52nd and 66th minute and added two more after Basnet scored in the 75th.

Bhandari completed her hat-trick in the 80th minute and scored her fourth a minute later.

In the second game of the day, Chandar Bhandari scored twice and Anjana Thulung Rai, Birsana Chaudhary, Mamata Pun and Anita Lamzel scored the other goals in Dhangadhi's win over Lalitpur.

Rai scored the team's first in the ninth minute. Bhandari doubled the lead a minute later and Pun added a third in the 39th. After Bhandari scored her second in the 55th, Chaudhary scored the team's fifth in the 64th minute. Lamzel scored the sixth in the 70th.

Dhangadhi remain in the top position due to better goal difference over second-placed APF. Pointless Waling are in the bottom and Lalitpur are sixth as the third round of matches came to an end.

24 players called up for closed camp of AFC Asian Cup 2023 Qualifiers

Head coach of national men's football team Abdullah Almutairi has called up 24 players for the closed camp of the AFC Asian Cup 2023 Qualifiers.

Nepal have been drawn alongside Jordan, Kuwait and Indonesia in the Group A of the tournament. Nepal will play its first game against Jordan on June 8 followed by against Kuwait on June 11. The final game against Indonesia will be played on June 14.

All the matches will be played in Kuwait.

The national team closed camp will begin from April 15, 2022.

Chandrapur, Biratnagar share points, Police down Army

Chandrapur Municipality Rautahat and Biratnagar Metropolitan City Morang shared points after playing out a 1-1 draw in the National Women's League 2078 on Wednesday.

In the second match at Sharadanagar Football Ground, Nepal Police Club defeated Tribhuvan Army Football Club 2-1 and condemn Tribhuvan Army to second defeat from their first three matches.

Mina Khatun opened the scoring for Biratnagar in the 41st minute before substitute Rajani Thokar levelled in the 51st.

Nepal Police scored twice in two minutes through Niru Thapa and Nirmala Upadhyay to defeat departmental rivals Tribhuvan Army.

Thapa scored the team's first in the 14th minure and Upadhyay doubled the advantage in the 15th.

Tribhuvan Army had to wait until the 70th minute to halve the deficit through Punam Jargha Magar.

Dhangadhi sub-metropolitan city lead the standings with a superior goal difference over defending champions APF Football Club. Nepal Police, also on six points, move to third in the table while Tribhuvan Army are fifth.

APF will play against bottom-placed Waling Municipality in the first match on Thursday at 1:15 pm while Lalitpur Metropolitan City will face Dhangadhi in the second match of the day at 4:15 pm.
