Seven clubs granted National License

Seven football clubs have been granted the National License ahead of the National League 2082 after successfully meeting all the requirements set under the National Club Licensing Criteria. The licensed clubs are Machhindra Football Club, APF Football Club, Tribhuvan Army Football Club, Nepal Police Club, New Road Team, Satdobato Youth Club, and Church Boys United.

The licensing process, conducted in line with ANFA’s club licensing regulations, assessed the clubs across key areas including sporting, infrastructure, personnel and administrative, legal, and financial criteria. The successful completion of this rigorous process reflects the clubs’ growing professionalism and commitment to meeting national and international standards.

With this approval, the seven clubs are now eligible to apply for and participate in the AFC Club Licensing process. This opens the door for potential participation in AFC competitions, providing an opportunity for Nepali clubs to represent the nation at the continental level and gain valuable international exposure.

Lalit Memorial ANFA U-18 Youth League kicks off at Satdobato

The Lalit Memorial ANFA U-18 Youth League officially began today at the ANFA Complex in Satdobato, with the participation of 12 ‘A’ Division clubs.

The participating clubs in this year’s league are: APF Football Club, Church Boys United, Friends Club, Machhindra Club, Manang Marsyangdi Club, Nepal Police Club, New Road Team (NRT), Planning Boys United, Sankata Club, Satdobato Youth Club, Shree Bhagawati Club, and Tribhuvan Army Football Club.

The opening match of the league ended in a goalless draw between Sankata FC and Machhindra FC, marking a competitive start to the tournament.

The league was inaugurated by ANFA President Pankaj Bikram Nembang, who formally opened the competition by handing over the match ball to the match officials. The opening ceremony was also attended by ANFA Vice President Dawa Lama, General Secretary Kiran Rai, Executive Committee Members Maniraj Bista, Bikash Narayan Shrestha, and Bhojraj Shahi, along with CEO Indraman Tuladhar, Treasurer Rabindra Joshi, and other officials.

Following the opening ceremony, ANFA officials and dignitaries paid tribute at the statue of ANFA’s former Acting President Late Lalit Krishna Shrestha, located within the ANFA Complex. ANFA President Pankaj Bikram Nembang, Vice President Dawa Lama, General Secretary Kiran Rai, Executive Committee Members, and other personalities offered floral garlands and khadas in his honour.

The Lalit Memorial ANFA U-18 Youth League is being organized in remembrance of Late Lalit Krishna Shrestha.

ANFA U-16 Youth League concludes with Nepal Police Club crowned Champions

The ANFA U-16 Youth League concluded successfully with Nepal Police Club emerging as champions, capping off an impressive campaign with a dominant 6–0 victory over Jawalakhel Youth Club in their final match.

Machhindra Youth Club finished as runners-up despite a hard-fought 3–2 defeat against Friends Club in their last fixture. Machhindra needed a win and also had to rely on Nepal Police Club dropping points to claim the title, but Nepal Police maintained their winning momentum to secure the championship.

In the individual awards, Nepal Police Club’s Samir Kumar was named the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the tournament. Bikash Thapa of Machhindra Football Club claimed the Highest Scorer award with an outstanding tally of 30 goals, while Bishesh Gurung of Manang Marsyangdi Club won the Best Goalkeeper award. Each individual award winner received NRs 15,000.

Nepal Police Club were awarded NRs 100,000 as league champions, while second-placed Machhindra Youth Club received NRs 50,000. Tribhuvan Army Football Club was honoured with the Fair Play Award.

The closing ceremony was graced by Mayor of Tokha Municipality Prakash Adhikari, FIFA’s Regional Technical Consultant Chokey Nima and General Secretary Kiran Rai, who jointly handed over trophies, medals, and prizes to the players and club officials.

ANFA Executive Committee Members Bikash Narayan Shrestha, Manish Joshi, and Bhojraj Shahi were also present at the ceremony.

East Bengal FC crowned Champions of SAFF Women’s Club Championship

India’s East Bengal FC were crowned champions of the SAFF Women’s Club Championship after registering a commanding 3–0 victory over Nepal’s APF FC in the final at the Dasharath Stadium, Tripureshwor.

Led by captain Fazila Ikwaput, East Bengal delivered a composed and clinical performance to lift the title. Fazila scored twice, while Shilky Devi Hnam added another to seal a dominant win in the championship decider.

East Bengal broke the deadlock in the 22nd minute following a defensive lapse from APF. A lack of coordination between goalkeeper Anjana Rana Magar and defender Gita Rana allowed Fazila to capitalise, with her effort from inside the penalty area finding its way into the net.

The Indian side doubled their advantage in the 35th minute through Shilky Devi. Sarita Yumnam’s corner was met by Asha Lata, whose headed assist was finished by Shilky with a precise header to extend East Bengal’s lead.

APF struggled to build sustained attacking momentum in the first half and found opportunities hard to come by. Their closest chance came in injury time when Mina Deuwa’s header, following a cross from Anita Basnet, narrowly missed the target.

East Bengal struck again early in the second half, with Fazila scoring her second of the match. Although goalkeeper Anjana got a touch to the shot, she was unable to gather the ball cleanly, allowing it to cross the line.

APF pushed forward in search of a response in the latter stages of the match but were unable to break through East Bengal’s disciplined defence. Despite remaining unbeaten and not conceding a single goal in the group stage, APF were unable to replicate that defensive solidity in the final.

East Bengal, who went on to lift the title without losing a match in the tournament, capped off an impressive campaign by claiming the SAFF Women’s Club Championship trophy.
