FIFA team visits Nepal to evaluate infrastructural development in Nepal

Theodore Giannikos, Director MA Service of FIFA and Price Rufus, FIFA Development Officer visited ANFA Complex, Satdobato today to evaluate the infrastructural development of the football headquarter of Nepal.

During the visit, operational meetings with the representatives from FIFA and ANFA President Karma Tsering Sherpa, ANFA General Secretary Indraman Tuladhar, ANFA Vice President Shixit Parajuli and other ANFA members was held. The FIFA representatives also interacted with the newly appointed Technical Director of ANFA, Garry Philips.

The dignitaries will be traveling to Rautahat tomorrow to inspect the technical center build by ANFA. The project- Women's Technical Center Rautahat is funded by the FIFA.

Applications rejected for AFC License for 2019/20

The applications of all the 14 'A' Division clubs have been rejected for the AFC Club License for this season.

The result was announced after the All Nepal Football Association's Club Licensing Committee meeting with the First Instant Body (FIB) was held on October 25, 2019.

Fourteen 'A' division clubs – Manang Marshyandi Club, Three Star Club, Nepal Police Club, Jawalakhel Youth Club, Sankata Club, Friends Club, Saraswoti Club, Himalayan Sherpa Club, Brigade Boys Club, Armed Police Force, Tribhuwan Army Club, Machhindra Club, New Road Team and Chyasal Youth Club- applied for the AFC Licenses for the season 2019/20.

Since non of the clubs lodged an appeal to the commitee the decision has been sent to AFC after the conclusion of the Core Process Timeline. 

The ANFA is also preparing to implement Club Licensing in National League for next year with the minimum criteria included by the AFC in the Club Licensing Administration (CLAS) System.

Team announced for Myanmar friendly

Nepal national men’s team head coach Johan Kalin has announced his final squad for the International friendly against Myanmar on November 7, 2019 in Mandalay. The friendly is a part of Nepal’s preparation for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 and AFC Asian Cup China 2023 matches to be played at home. Nepal will face Kuwait in the first home match of the Qualifiers on 19th of November.

Final Squad:

Goalkeepers: Bikesh Kuthu, Bishal Shrestha, Alan Neupane

Defenders: Saroj Dahal, Ajit Bhandari, Dinesh Rajbanshi, Ananta Tamang, Devendra Tamang, Rajeen Dhimal, Suman Aryal

ANFA President Karma Tsering Sherpa meets delegations of the US Soccer Federation

ANFA President Karma Tsering Sherpa today visited US Soccer Federation and held a meeting with the delegations of the Federation, which was chaired by Brain Remedi, Chief Administrative Officer of the US Soccer Federation.  

The meeting took four key decisions. The decisions are:

1) The US Soccer Federation to take very important steps for the development of the Women’s Football in Nepal.

2) The US Soccer Federation will bring Scouting Workshop in Nepal to bridge the gap in recruitments of talented senior and youth players.

3) The US Soccer Federation is very positive to conduct coaching courses for the Nepalese coaches residing in the USA.

4) The US Soccer Federation is highly interested to promote the FIFA World Cup 2026 from the Mount Everest.
