Nepal to play two friendlies against India

Nepali national football team is all set to play two friendly matches against Indian national football team on September 2 and 5 in Dasharath Stadium.

The friendlies have been confirmed by both All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) and All India Football Federation (AIFF).

The two national teams have faced each other in 19 occasions with India winning in 13 of them. Nepal has defeated India two times the latest of which was the 2-1 victory in the 2013 SAFF Championship in Kathmandu.

Both the sides are currently in preparations for the upcoming SAFF Championship.

The last time Nepal hosted India was in March 2015 when the two teams played a goalless draw at Dasharath Stadium in the 2018 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers.

ANFA Spokesperson Kiran Rai announces resignation

All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) Spokesperson Kiran Rai has announced resignation from his post on Monday.

Rai submitted his resignation letter to ANFA President Karma Tsering Sherpa earlier in the day.

Rai also organized a press meet at ANFA Complex to announce his resignation. He thanked everyone at ANFA for handing him the responsibility for the past three years.

Rai will continue in his role as the Executive Member of ANFA and the Chairperson of ANFA's Information and Communication Committee.

ANFA signs MoU with Charak Hospital for 'A' Division National Futsal League

All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) has signed one year memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Charak Memorial Hospital (CMH) for the 'A' Division National Futsal League.

ANFA Health Committee Coordinator Niraj Khadki and CMH's Director Ramchandra Regmi signed in the MOU in Pokhara on Sunday.

As per the agreement, CMH will conduct PCR tests of the players, technical team members and referee in the futsal league and also provide treatment for injured players.

The futsal league is scheduled to be held from September 18 to October 8.

'A' Division League to begin from November 15

Clubs have agreed to start the Martyr's Memorial 'A' Division League 2021 from November 15.

A meeting between All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) and 'A' Division Clubs at ANFA Complex took the decision to start the league on the aforementioned date.

Earlier, the clubs had agreed to start the league from September 19 but with the deferral of SAFF Championship to the first week of October, the league has also been pushed back.

Prize money for the champions has also been increased to Rs 7.5 million from last year's Rs 5 million. The second and third placed clubs will win a cash prize of Rs 5 million and 2.5 million respectively. Clubs will be provided Rs 2 million each as preparation money.

Two bottom-placed teams will be relegated to 'B' Division after the conclusion of the league.

The league will be conducted on a single round basis. In the previous meeting clubs had agreed to a super eight and bottom six rounds to decide on the champions and relegation but the decision was scrapped due to the Covid-19 situation.

Clubs have also agreed to hold further talks regarding the coronavirus situation in the future. Players' registration for the league has already started.

Representatives of all 'A' Division clubs had taken part in the meeting.

ANFA General Secretary Indraman Tuladhar, Assistant General Secretary Arun Man Joshi, League Committee Coordinator Bigyan Raj Sharma, League Director Sanjeb Mishra, among others, were also present in the discussion.
