Arpan Karki, Shisir Lekhi and Abhishek Rijal left out of national squad

National men's team head coach Abdullah Almutairi has reduced his squad to 25 leaving out goalkeeper Arpan Karki, Shisir Lekhi and Abhishek Rijal.

The national team is currently in closed camp training in Pokhara preparing for upcoming India friendlies and SAFF Championship.

Nepal will play against India in two friendly on September 2 and 5 at Dasharath Stadium. The SAFF Championship is scheduled to begin from October 1.

Final squad for 2022 AFC Women's Asian Cup Qualifiers announced

Head Coach Gary Phillips has finalized the team for 2022 AFC Women's Asian Cup qualification. Coach Phillips today announced the final 23 member squad releasing five players from the closed camp. Amisha Karki, Anchali Waiba, Hima Chaudhary, Manisha Raut and Sharmila Thapa have been left out of the squad.

Nepali women's national team will play their first match against Philippines on September 18th and second against Hong Kong on September 21. The tournament will be held in Uzbekistan.

Fixtures of SAFF Championship revised

South Asian Football Federation has revised the fixtures of upcoming SAFF Championship.

As per the new fixtures, Nepal will play against hosts and defending champion Maldives in the inaugural match on October 1 before taking on Sri Lanka on the 4th. 

Nepal third match will be against India on October 10 and the final group match will be against Bangladesh on October 13. 

The final will be played between the top two teams on October 16.

Nepali national team is currently in closed camp training for the Championship.

Chyasal Youth Club to run football academy after agreement with Puspasadan School

Top tier club Chyasal Youth Club and Puspasadan Boarding School have agreed to run football academy.

The agreement was signed beween the club, school and All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) on Friday. 

The agreement is similar to that signed earlier by five clubs with 14 players, seven from club and seven from school, joining the academy in the first year. There will be 21 players from second year with seven more provided by club. 

Chyasal's President Ramesh Byanjankarnand Puspasadan's principal Ram Dhan Rai signed in the agreement. ANFA Vice President and Grassroots and Youth Coordinator Upendra Man Singh signed for ANFA. 

Machhindra Club, Sankata Club, Satdobato Youth Club, New Road Team and Manang Marsyangdi Club are the other clubs to sign the agreement after departmental teams.
