Sports Minister Gahatraj to inaugurate SAFF Women's Championship 2022

Minister for Youth and Sports Maheshwor Jung Gahatraj will inaugurate the opening session of SAFF Women's Championship in Kathmandu.

ANFA President Pankaj Bikram Nembang and General Secretary Kiran Rai had invited Minister Gahatraj for the opening session which he readily accepted.

The regional tournament begins from Tuesday at Dasharath Stadium in Kathmandu. Hosts Nepal take on Bhutan in the opening match that begins at 5:30 pm.

All the participating teams have arrived for the competition.

ANFA bids farewell to U-17 national team

The national U-17 team, flying to Sri Lanka on Friday to take part in the SAFF U-17 Championship, has been bade farewell by All Nepal Football Association (ANFA).

Chief guest National Sports Council Vice President Shiva Prasad Koirala, ANFA President Pankaj Bikram Nembang, Vice Presidents Birat Jung Shahi and Dipak Khatiwada, General Secretary Kiran Rai and members Rabindra Chand, Mahendra Chhetri were present in the special farewell function at ANFA Complex on Thursday.

Chief guest Koirala, President Nembang, Vice President Khatiwada and General Secretary Rai addressed the programme and wished the team well for the tournament. They hoped the team would finally land the elusive trophy in Sri Lanka.

The team will fly to Sri Lanka on Friday at 1 pm.

The programme was hosted by ANFA Spokesperson Suresh Shah.

Squad for Bangladesh friendly down to 30

Acting Head Coach of men's national team Pradeep Humagain has reduced his squad on Tuesday.

Humagain left out 10 players from the 40 called up for the national team.

Defenders Devendra Tamang, Chiring Gurung, Nishan Khadka, Amit Tamang and Gautam Shrestha have been left out. Coach Humagain has also left out midfielders Pujan Uperkoti, Rajan Gurung, and Subash Gurung while forwards George Prince Karki and Ashish Chapagain will also leave the squad.

Nepal is playing an international friendly match against Bangladesh on September 27.

ANFA signs ticketing and broadcasting agreement with 100 Sports for SAFF Women's Championship

All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) has signed marketing, broadcasting, & ticketing agreement with 100 Sports Management Private Limited for the upcoming SAFF Women's Championship 2022 in Kathmandu.

ANFA General Secretary Kiran Rai and 100 Sports Founder and MD Ravindra Bhati signed and exchanged the MoU at ANFA Complex in Satdobato.

100 Sports will now have exclusive ticketing, marketing and broadcasting rights for the Championship. The company will also have the non-exclusive digital rights of the competition.

The SAFF Championship will be held in Kathmandu from September 6-19.
