Head Coach Khadka announce 23-women squad

January 25, 2019 - Nepal Women’s Football team head coach Hari Khadka has announced his 23-women squad, who will accompany the Nepal Women’s Football team to India, for the four-nation tournament.

India invited Nepal to compete in the tournament that is scheduled to take place in Bhubaneswar from 7th to 17th February, 2019.

The tournament features four teams including hosts, India, Myanmar, Sri Lanka and Nepal.

The tournament in India is regarded as part of the preparation for upcoming SAFF Women’s Championship.

Nepal is hosting the championship in Biratnagar from March 12 to March 22.

Nepal has been pitted against Bangladesh, Bhutan and Pakistan in Group ‘A’ of the SAFF Women’s Championship.

“The tournament in India will help the players find exposure before the major championship,” said head coach Khadka.

Among the listed 23-squad traveling to India, coach Khadka will then reduce the players to 20 as the final squad for the SAFF.

 

The Squads:

Goalkeepers: Anjana Rana Magar, Usha Nath, Anjila Tumbapo Subba.

Defenders: Hira Kumari Bhujel, Gita Rana, Punam Jargha Magar, Amrita Jaishi, Kabita Dhimal, Sunita Chaudhary, Puja Rana, Man Maya Limbu.

Midfielders: Bimala Chaudhary, Anita Basnet, Dipa Rai, Manjali Kumari Yonjan, Sharmila Thapa, Saru Limbu, Renuka Nagarkote, Anita KC.

Forwards: Anu Lama, Rekha  Poudel, Niru Thapa (C), Sabitra Bhandari.

January 22, 2019 - The Nepal National Women’s Football Team will compete in a four-nation tournament in Bhubaneswar, India from 7th to 17th of February, 2019, as part of the preparations for the upcoming SAFF Women’s Championship. The tournament features four teams including hosts India, Myanmar, Sri Lanka and Nepal. Nepal is hosting the SAFF Women’s Championship from March 12th in Biratnagar. Nepal has been drawn in Group ‘A’ of the SAFF Women’s Championship alongside Bangladesh, Bhutan and Pakistan.

Mahindra APF Defeats CMG Sankata Club 2 - 1.

Mahindra Armed Police Club beat CMG Sankata Club 2 - 1 to secure the fifth position in the ongoing Pulsar Martyrs' Memorial A Division League Match held on 7th January 2019. Sankata Club even though dominated the possession in the starting minutes were caught on the counter-attack. The ball cleared by the APF keeper was taken all the way from center line to the goal post by Yubraj Khadka in the 26th minute of the game. Sankata Club put back to back to level the match but APF's disciplined defense stood firm. APF doubled their lead in the 71st minute of the game when Rajan Gurung headed home a brilliant ball from a freekick. Sankata Club was forced to make two substitutions in the game due to injury for Tampi Ernest and Saroj Dahal. Sankata managed to pull one back in the 93rd minute of the game from a brilliant freekick from Laxman Ruchal. Bishwas Udas was awarded the man of the match award.
