Shuhil KC scores in the 79th minute
Aug: 29-Nepal U-23 beat Bangladesh U-23 1-0 in the second friendly played at Sylhet on Friday.
Substitute Sushil KC, who came in for Heman Gurung in the 69th minute, scored the only goal of the game in 79h minute to level the series 1-1. Nepal were beaten in the first match by an identical score-line in Dhaka.
KC fired the ball into the back of the net from Rabin Shrestha’s cross.
Played in front of a full-house crowd, Nepal team appeared a different side than their previous performance in Dhaka. Such was the attendance at the stadium that the spectators circled the touchline of the ground to watch the match. Luckily no untoward incidents were reported during the course of the match.
Due to the over-attendance the kick-off scheduled for 4:45 NST was delayed as both sides refused to play seeing the overwhelming number of spectators circling the touchline. The match kicked-off almost an hour later.
Nepal looked comfortable in-front of the vocal partisan crowd and created few chances in the first half. Jagjeet Shrestha, who has returned from his brief stint in Poland, looked dangerous from the left flank, but was unable to create any damages in the well guarded Bangla defense. Shrestha made way for Amar Dangol in the 88th minute.
